A buddy of mine has a 1995 TransAm...mild modifications done..cam..exhaust and headers.
Yesterday he was driving to work and the car started to die on him, sputtering and trying to quit. He was able to get the car to work and shut it off but,
when he tried crank the car back up, it would not start. Pulled on of the plugs off..it was fouled..so replaced all spark plugs. Tried to crank it again would not completely turn over and started to backfire. So he sprayed some ether into the intake and it cranked right up ran for about a minute then died again. Tried the ether again when it backfired (sounded like the backfire was coming straight out the exhaust and through the intake) it blew the air intake straight off. Now it will not start period.
In the process of replacing coil packs and plugs/wires.
Any ideas on what else should be changed?
