Thread: What to do with my old xbox 360

I have an old xbox 360 laying around that has the e71 error at bootup and I cant fix it so I figured I should do something with it. Some people put and old system like a snes or something inside and make it functional. Any ideas guys? I wanted to make it into a desktop computer but that would take a lot of work and I dont know if I have the tech know how...

You can see all broken 360's on ebay and get about $20-$25 for 'em. Thats what I used to do.

Making it into a PC would be neato, but you'd need parts considered suitable for a small desktop computer. Do measurements, find a case of similar size, and buy parts that would generally fit that case. After that, ghetto-rig the parts into there, as well as cut a hole in the back for all your plugins.

I could sell it but id only get like 20 bucks.. not even worth it. Yea any idea how much something like that would cost seangtp?

It'd just be the price of parts. You could make it a simple home rig, buy cheapy parts and just use it to get on the internet, you could probably do that for 200 minimally.

If you are interested in getting rid of it, I'll take it. I'm planning on making a wooden cabinet for my current 360, and need a few spare parts to run the buttons in different places.

Its dimensions are 15.00" x 13.2" x 3.9"

while the 360's are 12.15 in wide x 3.27 in high x 10.15 in deep

I wouldn't risk it, then you're just stuck with a computer you can't return. You have to remember you'll have less space than the actual dimensions of the xbox itself to work with, simply because of the design...
