Kinda sad but a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan is as fast as a GP GTP. 15.7 s for the 1/4 mile, 283HP, blows me away that a base model mini van is that fast now

my 99 caravan is super race. I beat a ford focus once
That is assuming it can manage to stay running for an entire 1/4 mile.
Maybe the smart thing for me to do is trade in my car and the wife's 09 grand caravan for a 2011 model. Its much faster then my car and it has the room for all of the kids stuff the wife wants to drag around.
same speed as a gp gtp with room for two more people!
That Pintistar V6 is pretty quick. SN: Grand Caravan is the model. Trim levels include American Value Package, SXT, CREW, and the top level R/T. They all have the Pintistar V6.
Note that the 283 hp is at 6,400 rpm. Gonna take a while for it to reach that. It also has only 260 ft lbs of torque. ... and it has a 0-60 of 8.0 seconds. ...and a 1/4 mile of 16.1.
IL Track Tested: 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan R/T
GTP wins hands down. GT would be an interesting match up though.
hmmm, other sites are saying 15.6 sec 1/4mile,
Compare 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan SE/AVP Front-wheel Drive Passenger Van Specs and Equipment With 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan Express Front-wheel Drive Passenger Van
2012 Dodge (U.S.) Grand Caravan 5gen specs, performance, photo & data
closer in speed to a gtp then a n/a gp
is there one web site that has all the 1/4mile times to use for comparison?
I was able to compare things with autos.aol.com
n/a gp 16.6s 1/4mile
gtp gp 15.6s 1/4mile
dodge gc 15.6s 1/4mile
Another nail in the coffin for the GP is its baby carrying abilities. Its a tight squeeze putting a baby seat in the back seat, needed to lean drivers seat forward a bit to make it work. Then getting the hook out was a PIA for some reason. So much easier in the mini van.
I have a car seat in my 2 door and didn't have to change my seat... Works out quite nice. Better the my wifes 2 door z24
when does a gtp pull 15.6? when they just floor it and hope its grips lol, high 14's a stock gtp should pull with all seasons and a good launch i would think.
most sites that record 1/4 miles cant be trusted, as you see it varies by almost a second form one site to another. but still sucks stock vans are slowly outpowering us.
reminds me of my buddy racing his gradmas ford aerostar minivan, my other buddy laughed when he cruised up in his lowered s-10 with a 5-speed, so gradma van and s-10 went at it from a dig and aerostar pulled a full car+ by 120km/h lmao, needles to say buddy with the s-10(rusted away long ago) gets reminded about it everytime i see him pretty much, even though it was like 7 years ago lol.
i was going to say a 15.6 get that car a drivers mod lol
