    While watching the Speed channel I watched a different video of this process but this video goes in depth and shows you exactly how its done. It isn't real chrome but I am sure that it is way way cheaper and you can do it yourself.

    Might be hard if unless your car has detachable body panels (like a Fiero). But I've been looking for a way to chrome my motorcycles fairings for awhile now...

    That's interesting, and it works infinitely better than the "chrome" spray paint I bought once (it was barely even matte silver). It doesn't quite look like it's something individuals can easily buy yet, though.

    I have a friend with a paint/body shop and he does this... Hardcore stuff, but it is pricey. His tester/show off pieces were made of a soft aluminum that were chromed, usually silver/blue/red transition chromed to show the color abilities, and he would shatter the shaft with a hammer to show that it wouldn't chip when hit hard, the shaft would break but the chrome stayed bonded to the metal. Pretty amazing stuff, but like I said... it comes with a price.
