Sorry we have been out of town the past few days and I havent been online much. I like the end of the track better but Im up in the air at the tree. At US41-Morocco dragway on the west side of the state a lot of people think its not the greatest and I hooked awesome there with the MT drag radials, never spun once. The GN has the same tires and doesnt come off the line instantaly like my Cutlass and I had trouble with it. On the street I could launch it about just as hard not even heating up the tires! The first run I made I got a 1.65 60' and I know it will do 1.5s after that run, but my next run was "planned" to be the last run of the night as I was running the full quarter and I launched the exact same and the tires went up and I had to let off the throttle. Cody had the same exact problem the two runs before me. I know in the past Saturdays were the only day I would go to Muncie because the track was so much stickier and maybe that still holds true. I think the run that I couldnt launch the car since it spun was because of the truck in front of me. He had huge slicks but didnt even get any smoke off of them in the water box so I feel he left some water on the track. The next pass I made I really nursed it off the line in fear of spinning and it was fine, the last run-they closed the lanes or I would have gone again- I still launched easy and managed a 1.75ish short time and felt I could have pushed it harder but knew it was my last run and 11.3 or faster was my goal for the night so thats what i made it do lol. I really think once the sun went down it had a big impact and the humidity went way up and probably didnt help. The grass was pretty wet even at 9:30 when we left, so in less than 2 hours the conditions likely worsened a bit. So in a nutshell, I like the end of the track much better than before but still unsure at the front side of the track.
I was spinning the Hoosiers also only pulled a 1.83 60' 12.67@110 dropped pressure way down trying to hook I am still new to slicks hopefully I can get a low 12 out of the car They never once said anything about me wearing a helmet but overall I think its better ran and they are trying to make it better
Yeah it definately is nicer than it used to be, no more offroading after the quarter lol. I quit going to get good timeslips on Weds a few years ago and started only going on Saturdays as the track is always much better. You get 3 practice runs and if you win after the bracket racing starts you can progress through the night and even win some money depending on how far you go. Last year I took my Cutlass once, the second time it spun so I got pissed and left, that car doesnt spin, not even on the street! When I have to pay to not hook up its rather frustrating especially since the other few tracks I have been with the car and out on the street the car sticks like glue. My car wont go back to any track until I get the rearend beefed up as it lifts the left front wheel an inch or two on launches and the stock axles arent liking me! I had to upgrade my driveshaft last year because the stock one get very bent from launches and caused a terrible high speed vibration.
