I dont know how long ago i did this i think i did it in march this year but yea anyway i was bored and i didnt see anyone that modded the slim xbox yet so i started working all in all i did this in only 2 days about 4-5 hours a day and yes i still have it thinking about selling it.

    Just the standard black

    Tore that biotch up. lol

Cut out me a plexi-glass insert

Need atleast one controller to match the system

    Sanded down right

In the booth. Primer down right. CHECK

    Cutting the plexi sheet

Masked off with a slash for flavor

Feeling this color cause my dad benz is this color plus there is no xbox this color so..... CHECK

Plexi glass is on and its ****ing nice

Cutting the disc tray for disc display

    Controller back together

    System done

IF YOU SEE IN THIS MORE UPDATED PIC I ADDED A CUT OUT FOR COMPUTER FAN GRILLE CAUSE THE SYSTEM OVER HEATED SO ITS PORTED NOW AND I ADDED 4 SHORT SCREWS TO HOLD THE PLEXI IT JUST LOOKS BETTER AND ITS DIRTY, LOL

That looks fun and all but i chose to go with function over looks

I added a 10,000rpm Velociraptor HDD to mine with a 60mm HDD cooling fan and also 12v modded the main cooling fan.

The main fan is allegedly good to around 90cfm or so but normally only runs at 5v MAX. well i took care of that problem -- Heat...what's that?

and the HDD? 10 to 30% faster load times for all games/saves loaded to the hard drive is an average. some are 50% or better. I no longer want to punch babies while playing Forza due to the tracks taking BLOODY AGES to load.

    For the HDD:

Solder a 12v lead into the last 3 pins on the SATA connector.

Reassembly of the above connector must be done with only HALF of the shell to allow the connector to sit low enough on the mount. you will need a spacer on top to ensure good clamping force so it doesn't rock when inserting/removing the drive.

Made a small pigtail so the HDD cover is still removable. I wanted all internal wiring but it simply can't happen. I still can completely disassemble the XBOX minus that small black plastic shroud around all of the outputs on the back.

For power for all this i tapped into the 2 12v lines of the DVD drive (one on each side) so as to balance the load. First pic of final assembly: Note it lacked the spacer on the top of the SATA connector. This is how i found that one out. OOPS!

And the fan on the HDD cover's outside. This still is removable like stock and almost completely open. no room for internal fan. Obviously i trimmed the zipties flush :P

Wanna run a 7200rpm HDD or mod for the 10k? I can help you through it. Go look up a program called HDDHACKER and see the drives it supports. We'll soon be able to do a 320GB drive as soon as they dump the HDDSS.BIN for the new star wars console. time to upgrade!

lol. ea i ran a pretest and it over heated in like 5 min so i had to take the plexi off and cut the whole but it would have been a big whole so i took a fan from my computer bone yard

It is not modding the software at all.

It is copying an OFFICIAL MS HDDSS.BIN file and partitions over to a compatible hard drive to allow it to work with the 360.

As far as anyone can tell...INCLUDING when they run a console check (because it uses the official file) it is a MS 120GB HDD.

I have had this console (my SOLE console) on live for almost 12 months now. i'd think if there was a chance of a hardware ban i would've got one by now

That does look sick. My brother wants to mod his (my) xbox. I may just say I'm going to help him do it... Then do it my way and steal it back from him lol.
