    I believe so.
my gt blew again. ive got the heads down again, still dk the problem.

    but, anywho.
got an oppurtunity to pick up a 97 coupe gtp, graphite leather int, fully optioned with HUD, and all the good jazz. Body, heads and SC has 166k on them,

Block is a 08 series III block, with 22k miles, heads have new valve stem seals, and been cleaned up, blower is fully ported with a 3.15 pulley. Stock tune, GXP big brake upgrade..

    $2,000.
I paid 2400 for mine, a 01 gt, 168k, and had to put tires, and front end bushings and ****.

Just don't like the fact that's it's a 97, but other than that, I don't see why not.

EDIT: Just watch out for that Engine Compartment Fire crap. I know a guy who traded his BMW for a 97 GTP and cash and as he was driving it back home, it went up in flames.

wait... what are the supporting mods for the 3.15" pulley? it's not running right, i'll tell you that. i wouldn't touch it. i bet you anything that's how it ended up with a new block, too small of a pulley and poof goes the bottom end

if it's not done right, don't do it at all

about 6 seconds at wide open throttle. is it a gen 3 or gen 5 blower? bolt ons and a tune will get you a 3.4" on a gen 3, anything smaller you're talking cam or rockers... in addition to full bolt ons. if it's a gen 5... i've seen 1 car sub-3.4" and it's intercooled, cammed, and running on ethanol

that... made my head hurt. stock injectors run out way before 400 horsepower. methanol a joke?... you've got to be kidding. and no, it's not the original bottom end, but it's stock, from an 08. not made out of any stronger materials, just a slightly different casting. i have a chunk of piston hanging from my rearview mirror because of a jackass just like this guy... the pulley isn't worth anything without flow mods. you don't necessarily want a high boost pressure, you want flow. anything higher than 14psi or so means you have a restriction. you might be alright if you go back to stock, but you could also have bent connecting rods, warped heads or valve train parts... don't touch this car

The next person that buys this car will be putting another engine in it.

Tell him you'll give him 2G's if he replaces the motor and puts a stock pulley on before he starts it.

Yeah seriously. My stock 33# injectors are already at 85% injector duty (which really is as high as you should go on stockers if you like your engine), on a simple 3.4 setup with headers making a puny 300 crank hp

I am a little curious to see how much more i will push it once i get my 1.9 modded rockers in, but the safety nazi in me will probably push me to order 42.5# injectors before going through with it.

the motors not even run yet, its finishing the install. fresh build.....?

the flow on the blowers great, but the rest is what i worry about.
I'll just change the pulley back.

08 series III would be high compression.

Combined with stock heads, no I/C or cam....

Considering you'd need at least two of those to run that pulley....

    nope.

Stock tune on anything but a 3.8 pulley is bad news.

Also probably need more than a ported SC to run a stock pulley with high compression.
