So, I know some of you will think this is a wasted thread. However, I found it neat cuz its not something I see everyday.
Indy 500 time trials happened over the weekend and I live about 1.5 hrs from the track. On a garage saling adventure today, we saw this in a parking lot just off of I69 at the Markle exit:

You should go sometime. Totally worth it. You think they're fast on TV see them in person. I've been to the 500 10 times and Brickyard 7.

I see those Vette's every now and then at the 500. They usually have a whole collection of pace cars outside the museum near the water fountain in the "Chevy Experience" area. Got to lay eyes on the new ZR-1 a few years back too.

Technically you have another 5 years before the true running of the 100th Indy 500 as they did not run during the world wars, so 2016 is the year you want to shoot for. This is the 95th running of the race, but 100th anniversary of the 1st 500.

The all-electric Indy 500 will break the record for the world's quietest race, lol... No gas motors turning 10 grand down the straights

That explains the mid 70's monte carlos that were at the rest area just outside of champaign this weekend. Any car that has the Indy pace car on it is worth taking a look at.
