Thread: read this text aloud today... 5 speed fail

i was sitting in engines class today, and as class was about to start i recieved a text message saying roughly:

"so a friend of mine let his girlfriend drive his car. she was doing highway speed and for some reason dropped the transmission from 5th to 1st"

i've never heard a entire classroom groan and laugh in unison, and then of course the question: was she thinking?

apparently, she knew how to drive a stick shift because she was really good at the racing game at dave and busters.

upon getting the shop, the car obviously woudn't start. the transmission was toast, and i was told that the cylinder head was either cracked or the head gasket was toast because the motor was hydrolocked. i asked what kind of car, and it's some sort of suzuki. my response was total it out, and i got "no, he just got it, he wants it fixed." i then asked if he at least dumped the girl - "no, they've been dating for like 3 months, and she offered to pay for half of it". I said i would break up with her for sure and was told i was heartless and an evil person. i thought i was sane.

LMFAO that's HILARIOUS that's why I wouldn't let my girlfriend drive my car whether it's automatic or not :P

im glad my girlfriend isnt an idiot. ive let her drive my car before and would totally trust her to take it on her own and not screw it up.

Another reason why women need to stick with autos.

She must have pushed really hard to get it into first. Any car i've had it never really liked going into first if you were going over about 20.

Lol, I was changing the oil in a girls civic turbo for her. She had no idea what she was driving, I got all of a quart and a half of oil out of it.

eh my ex drove a SI, she knew how to maintain and work on her car, but my gtp was still faster

i know a lot of females that drive a stick better than i. i agree though, i would make that ***** pay for the whole thing...i'm not goin halvesies bc she's an idiot...
