i bet you could sell that barn for a nice buck. lots of people take down old decrepit homes and barns, and re purpose the lumber. old wood is like gold. if its old enough that is lol

GOOD LUCK!!! Hope ya get it.

When your demo'ing it Ima pay you to ship me some wood from it haha

GF has several ideas with old wood like that from Pintrest. Drives me nuts but they are some pretty cool ideas, one was a headboard, another was a whole wall in the bedroom top to bottom, sanded smooth and sealed for that classic barn look inside the room... must admit it looked pretty cool, but I was like that'll be expensive.

you got some cash coming back for sure then. best part is, they take it down and cart it off.

my brother had a 4 car garage built with a huge loft up stairs. barn style. pre fab deal, but real solid. the crew they hired did this demo of of homes and barns as well.

and once they learned this from the crew, they had them re build the old barn they have already,( its older then 1840) the whole bottom was rotted out, and it was on the lean and getting worse, my brother had to cut the barn door a few times over the years. anyway, they jacked it up leveled it replaced all the rotted wood and studs. and replaced all the old siding with old matching siding, then prepped and painted it. tore the old roofs off, and re did all the roofing as well. damn thing looks like new.

    It just screams serial killer.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.

LOL the idea the GF has on Pintrest looks alot better, that is the better one I found with a quick Google search. just for the general idea of the wall.

Does look kinda creepy tho now that you mention it

Yes, I just wanna do a small head board with it and maybe some signs and such. But I do like that whole wall idea...hmmm. pinterest is bad at putting ideas in my head, lol
I ran the rebuild idea past bf, but Idk if he'll go for it. But who knows, it may be cheaper than tearing it down and building a new one.

Serial killers are always country bumpkins with someone chained to a bed in the attic or barn. And most people might not notice that they think about that when they see that in the bedroom, but somewhere in the subconscious...

    ...they hear banjos.

that one you pictures is in way worse shape then my brothers, and a lot bigger, his is small like a 2 car garage, with a small up stairs. it was used to hold horses back in the day, the wood is all chewed up, like you can tell its from horses.

inside his house, well the studs are all true 2x4 and the beams in the attic still have bark on them lol, the house has some nice twists to it too. i dont think they had or used a level when this house was built.

im pretty sure they offered to buy the old barn from them for around 3,000. his girl was like what? then they said we could also fix it, so they went with fix it. fix it cost more lol

Yeah, its pretty rough looking. The roof and doors look like brand new metal tho...so those could at least get scrapped.

my brother small barn, best i could find, house is on the left, old barn in the middle,( its taller in the back, not shown) the start of the new barn on the right.

    188380_1752854512865_4159950_n.jpg

new barn, its showing 2 doors, but the 3 rd bay was set up as a office. even has floor drains so you can wash the cars in the winter inside if you want to. and full power, also was set up to install a 1/2 bath. not installed yet. the up stairs, well it could be an apt, its huge.

im pretty sure the big barn cost around 40 ish, they did add extras, like the drains, power ,and the 1/2 bath set up, and they ran into code problems, ( his girl can really work the system good, took a few hearings) and sewer pipe problem. ( old pipes suck) all that added to the price.

    Noooooooooooo!!
I am not a barn killer. I was all for saving it but Lee didn't want to. So he is the barn and tree killer. Cuz he wants to chop down the HUGE oak tree behind the house so he can put a garage there.

I'm all for killing trees before they can fall on the house etc. Since he's got the tree...I'm pinning the barn on you.

Yes....and there are no other big trees in the yard...so it'd be awhile till a new tree got big enough for that. The previous owners had the swing set under that tree. Lemme see if I can find a picture of it.
