you bastard if you haz cookie i want it. seriously tho i never thought to check. i prolly do but i didnt notice it driving home. i have too many idiot lights on anyway im prolly gonna rid all of them soon. it definitly is a much more comfy wheel.
Takes like 5min to pull the cluster and then start pulling bulbs lol.
tru but they cost more than this wheel. besides this was all free. i got the wheel from my store they were gonna throw it out. it goes for bout 150 bucks. so for the cost of the adapter and 2hours id say its gravy
I like color scheme need a driver seat view because it looks a little small to me
It does look a little small...like a 320mm...
It does look good in there, matches pretty nicely.
Looks similar to one I just put in my new DD, because the factory steering wheel was totally shot..
I like it though. Not many people put in aftermarket steering wheels in the GPs
its a 12inch wheel. it sits just enough so i have to duck a little to see all of my gauges but i can comfortably set my hands at 10 and 2 or 9 and 3.
I thought you were selling your car..... looks good though
It looks good and matches good.
Wonder how this plays out with insurance...cause I get a "air bag discount" on my rate. If you remove this, and get hurt in an accident, this would be a open window for them to deny payment to you for your medical bills because you altered the safety features of your car. To me, it would not be worth the risk.
But I put a "re worked" OEM steering wheel in my GTP. Same exact replacement as stock, but when they stripped it down to the core, they put in some cool new angles at 3 and 9.

I love mine!

That...is ****ing sweet GR8...
Very nice work.
That's hot farns
id rather not have an airbag come flying to my face and cripple my koolaid. id rather just die than have to eat threw a straw. meh...
Had it made.
I had been doing a lot of searching for a company since 2001, when I would find one, they were either way too expensive, would either change their price on me later, or go out of business. Around 2006 I finally narrowed it down to three business that would do it.
I put it out there some years back on the forums that there was a group buy to have them made at once for a really-really good deal. There was not one made, nobody wanted to take the risk so I went in alone. So what you see above, is a custom one off.
I shipped a extra steering wheel and a extra PS knob to Singapore, ya, on the other side of the world. Several weeks later it was done. It cost more to ship it there and back than what it actually cost to have them make it.
They can make more, but the price is now what they normally would charge.
Steering wheel = $660.00
Gear Shift Knob = $320.00
Shipping to them = $65.00 to $70.00 (uninsured)
They require a 50% deposit down, and remaining balance once completed. (they will show you (email you) completed pictures)
Return shipping insured is $100.00.
Grand total NOW would run anyone else roughly $1,150.00 for these two items. That was as of 2008 when the project was completed by them. Don't know what the prices would be today.
Doubtful anyone in the GP community would want to dish out the dough for them now regardless. Snooze, ya loose.
$40.00 for the steering wheel
$10.00 for the shift knob
$170.00 for the shipping there and back is what I paid when it was all said and done.

holy crap i havent been here for a while...lol just got an email for it.
to answer your question i used a standard grant gm truck adapter for the wheel. all gm steering shafts have the same spline count. the wheel adapter that was on there was listed for a 1995 chevy truck non airbag. the only reason they dont list them is because they dont want you to remove the wheel. also i dont have the car anymore. sold it and bought my old chebby truck. the wheel is now in that.
