Well "Vent" isn't really the right word.
We have four cats 16, 14, 12, and 2 1/2 years old. The 2 1/2 year old we adopted from the shelter, he was one of our neighbors who could no longer keep him. And we knew he would never be adopted, so we did.
All of our geriatric cats have some issues medically (kidneys, and thyroid). Chloe our 14 year old has been really bad off the last week and a half. She has been frothing at the mouth, not eating, or drinking. So we took her in along with Cody our 16 year old for their blood work and vaccines.
Chloe is so sick that she couldn't receive her vaccines, she received another fluid treatment. They shaved her neck so they could take blood from her jugular, because she is so dehydrated. Poor thing didn't even make a sound, since she is so sick and weak. She now only weighs 4 lbs 14 oz., in March she weighed 5 lbs 14 oz. We have had to resort to syring feeding her food every 30 minutes.
The vet called me Sunday, which was scary. He told me that Chloe's throid and kidney levels are good, but now her liver is not right. So we have some major decisions to make. My husband and I will not let Chloe suffer, but these are some tough times ahead.
The plus is she actually ate some food off a plate this morning, instead of the syringe. I have to leave work early today, so I can take her back in for another fluid treatment. I know this is just a cat, but she is one of our kids, thanks for listening.
