Spending two grand for upgrading to forged pistons (no other forged parts availible) isnt worth it.
You're better off investing in HPT and a wideband and learning to tune.

I agree with that..
With the power that the stock pistons can handle, on a properly running engine, theres no need to bump up to forged pistons.
Just spend the money elsewhere. Get a good wideband, and make something custom for the car.
I'd just strip it to the short block, and go from there, no need to rebuild the bottom end, or mess with it any.
First off, they use a forged process when creating their pistons, which results in a much stronger metal. Not only that, but they use a 2618 aluminum alloy which is much stronger than stock, can handle large amounts of boost and ignition timing, and has minimal expansion.
They have also moved the first ring groove farther down on the piston to give a thicker, stronger piston top. Then to top it off (pun intended), they offer an optional ceramic thermal coating on the piston tops which reflects the heat and reduces heat soak on the pistons and the piston skirts are moly coated for scuff resistance.
Apparently only if they're installed wrong.
Again, forged is a good idea but you must have some expensive tires in mind for putting this to the ground lol.
i just dont want to have any piston related issues down the road. like i said cash wasnt the issue lol i 12 month deployment to iraq is a nice chunk of change and tax free.. and i just dropped 2 grand into suspension/brakes so whats another 1k on forged pistons & connecting rods?
I'm debating which Cam to go with. (S1X?)
also wondering if i should switch to a GEN-V before i order the intercooler and ****.
Are you going to run faster than 8.65 and have 700hp? if not you do not need forged pistons.
If you've got money to burn.
sure. Buy a Gen V and intercooler.
For the cam, DD or weekend warrior?
thats dumb, unless you are an awesome tuner and want to be different.
If you want to make a lot of power twin charging is not what you want to do .
So...what are you going to do about your supercharger?
It says 3.4" on the snout.
If your going gung ho on it then go f*#@ing gung ho on it lol go gen v IC crazy cam e85, if i was you I would learn to tune and pick up hp. but what ever you decide to do it sounds like its gonna be insane, its gonna be a highly antisipated build for sure
yeah the gpx did not have a 6 speed. It just had the awd 4t-65 from a minivan.
