kind of new to lifting...what are good lifting companies for the K5 Blazers as well as 92-96 F150s...im leaning more towards the F150 just cuz its more modern.

to lift a gm truck with solid axles, all you would need is lift blocks and maybe a hi steer pitman arm, "ifs" gm trucks will need a whole new front end and cost in the range of 1500, in hand, and its a lot of work to install, I'm gm type of guy so i would never recommend a ford, ever! because of the trans and front ends always blowing apart. (and the old ford trucks are rattle boxes) and ford 4 wheel drive set up are worth less, most have open front and rear diffs, right rear drives and front left drives, i see more fords stuck in the snow, so sad.

if you were looking for the truck to be a work truck and needed it to haul lots of weight i wouldn't blame you for wanting a ford as they do tend to carry weight better, but a f-150 don't support more than 1/2 ton at all.( its a girls truck)

and for either truck type you could always go with a body lift, for 100 bucks, and do it in your drive way in 3 hours time, or less, and it would still drive and ride the same as it would stock, and if you go body lift get the bumper re-locator brackets or it will look chit.

this is a pic of my brothers 85 gmc, 4 inch lift blocks and a 2 inch body lift, rolling on 35's, notice the 2 inch gap between the frame and bottom of the bed, above the back wheel, thats the only thing you will see from a body lift

post I've had 2 of them, a 95 and a 97 and you can run 31's with a 1 1/2" T-Bar Crank and 2" shackles. Really wouldn't go above 1 1/2", if oyu od it will eat ball joints lol. with no lift I ran a LT235/75R15 and they did very well off-roading, snow and everything else I tried to go through.

Superlift, or Pro Comp make nice lift kits... I would stay away from Rough Country the Kits are cheaper for a reason.

In Fact I have a full Lift Kit minus Shocks from my '87 K5 I was gonna put on it but never Did I would like to sell off, lol

yeah they are, was gonna get a set of Pro Comp shocks for it because one again Rough Country really sucks and the shocks just don't last. So I would have to go for an more expensive shock.. the kit also has ORD Sway disco's which are rare and expensive lol
