It's kind of hard to explain. The M90 is pretty much only designed to flow 90 cubic inches per revolution. Porting it does NOT increase the amount it pushes out or pulls in....
    HOWEVER...
It lowers the outlet temperature, by increasing the outlet size, the air isn't as restricted so it doesn't heat up as much as if you were trying to push it out a smaller hole.
Say like you have X amount of air to go through a specific opening. When you put air under pressure, the temperature rises...it's physics, and there's no getting around it. Now...the longer it is under pressure the higher the temperature gets to a point. By opening it up, the air comes out smoother, cooler, and things aren't as volatile when it goes into the engine. This meaning that when the hot intake charge temperature mixes with the fuel, it's less likely to preignite on the compression stroke.

In a nutshell...a ported blower is definitely worth it....just watch what you pay for them.

Check out this one, by Trannyman. If you are going to get one, get one that is smooth straight and symetical. Any thing other than that can be worse than what you had stock.

ported blowers really only help on smaller pullies, usually sub 3.0". it will always help slightly, but only makes a big difference when you start making a lot of boost and heat.
