Primer would definitely help the paint to stick. I didn't use any on mine, but I should have.
I think I might grab a few knobs from the junk yard and see if I can duplicate what you did.
is he some how your friend?

just sayin
cuz you guys love red
I looked in to the primer idea and i think it will help but i cant find any for plastic.. but for what i done so far i havn't had any problems with the paint sticking or pilling, (so far)pics to come
just done with one part of the painting with the leds inside, more to come in the up comeing week
i dig the knobs
Cool, post up some more pics when you get your dash all put back together.
oh yea i will, thanks for the paint, im useing the same brand u did and its worked great so far
so far i've only used like 3/4's of a can. but ive only painted 3 things with 3 coats each, but i still have the big pieces left, so im thinking ill have to buy 2 more cans but who knows, im not even 100% sure what all im gonna paint (besides what ive already posted)so i could go though 2 more cans or 4, we'll just have to see
Did this the other day, post night pics soon
^^^^good job looks good man.
I wouldn't have painted the vents, speaker grills, or the a pillars personally. Also not to knock you but it looks like you could sand down and wetsand, and buff some parts so you get the smooth as a baby's ass finish. Also clear coat helps, in multiple layers.
I know it probably took you a long time to do this and KUDOS for the effort! I like the main pannel and trim on the doors it just needs some finish work done too it!
PS the knobs are nice !
I'm planning on going back to the stock dark gray vents as soon as it warms up enough for me to go to the junkyard. I think it will help space out the red because it is too much red in one area for me. I wasn't going to paint the pillars but they were light gray and stood out even worse then the red. I wasn't sure about sanding the plastic down. I did it on the interior of my cavalier and it was probably just a poor job on my part but it was rough looking. 'Does anyone know of any good clear coats. I tried two different kinds and both made it look pink.
finally done painting, red leds put under the dash too, night pic soon
