I paid 1k for mine. I wouldn't pay over 2k for a 97
97 is a weird year. Pcm is full blow retard (if you ever plan on tuning your car expect to spend countless hours), vacuum lines are different, along with some other little things.
Gt's came with a 4t60e
GTP's came with a 4t65-hd
overall i'm happy with mine.

It's hardly a "year" thing, it's just a condition and option thing. You could love a 97 GTP loaded coupe in great condition but hate a 2003 SE with no options and beat to ****... just saying.
But this is a GTP, so it's not really different than a 98. Just options and conditions.
If it were a GT, THEN it's different.
