so its been awhile since ive been on here

ive got a plan in the works to swap a l67 or l32 into a s10 single cab reg bed. 5 speed out of a camaro. probably just get a 3800/5speed out a camaro and swap the whole thing in and top swap it unless a l67/32 will bolt up to the 5speed. im sure you guys will have more insite on this than me. the truck is a 4cyl/5speed. not sure if the trans already in the truck will bolt up or not.

i dont wanna do a 4.3 swap or a v8 just cause its done all the time and im a 3800 guy.

A fwd l32/67 will bolt up. You'll need different exhaust manifolds or headers. Your biggest issue will be plumbing the intake and clearance for the blower. The throttle body will be facing the firewall

Cool idea. You just getting the tranny out of the camaro, or the engine too? I thought there were many differences between our 3800 and the camaro 3.8. Honestly, I think it sounds like a cool project, especially if you did a RWD L67. You're right though, don't even mess with a 4.3. It's junk.

And sourcing a Aussie based M90 would clear the firewall...that is the route I'd go.

you dont need an aussie m90, you just need to make an adapter that curves back around towards the front.

Haha, love the idea of the filter inside, and ****, crank the AC up and you'll have a damn nice CAI.

I agree with bio, have someone machine an adapter that will curve back so you can mount your TB, then filter.

Its a novel idea, let us know how it goes

It's been done on a G and F Body before...only reason why I said source an Aussie blower is because I'm lazy and really wouldnt feel like paying someone to make me a "U" shaped adapter.

Seeing the prices on Aussie blowers, i'd gladly pay someone to fab an adapter to bend it back to the front.

Sounds like a great project, i'd suggest equal length longtubes, and a custom x pipe or h pipe for super secks exhaust.

something like the sound of this

its a 98 s10. its just in the works. i havent started looking for parts tho. hoping i can find a totaled GP and camaro that would give me most needed parts. im sure its been done before but ive never personally seen it. i was lookin to do a Cummins 4bt swapped wrangler TJ but a 4bt in good condition arnt cheap. ill probably do a mild build on it too. cam, rockers, ported blower, etc. not sure how the engine mounts will work but havent really looked yet. thanks for the info

Sounds like a fun project. It's been done a couple of times in F-bodies that I've seen. One is actually being parted out so you may be able to snag his blower since it's been modified to fit.

    Mine came with the 4.3

Actually thinking about doing the same thing if the 4.3 ever lets me down. Got two L67's on stands here, one for the wife's GTP someday and the other for something, maybe this. Mine's a '95 Sonoma, 4.3 with the 4L60e trans. I'd definitely keep the auto trans for mine. Good luck and post pics of the build as it goes along, I could use some reference material.
