Thread: help me pick a new PS3 game to play

here is what is up on the top(ish) of the list right now:

a) god of war 3
b) red dead redemption PURCHASED
c) ninja gaiden sigma
d) assassins creed 2
e) brutal legend
f) devil may cry 4


here are games i already own, so dont suggest:

fallout 3, final fantasy 13, borderlands, dragon age: origins, ratchet and clank (the first one), prince of persia, dante's inferno, darksiders, killzone 2, possibly a couple more.

here is what im looking for in a game:

- has to last a good amount of time. if i can beat it in 3 days, i dont want it.
- has to have a good storyline. no storyline worth paying attention to, no care.
- im not super into shooters, if its like COD i do not want it. killzone 2 was sweet, but i beat it very quickly.
- sports games are for homos. suck it, madden lovers.
- i like hack and slash games, but they have to last a while. most are fairly short.
- realistic racing games blow, however all the new need for speed games suck. let's skip racing games for this.

im open to suggestions and opinions. heard of a stellar RPG that i havent looked into? tell me. played something baller that the IGN guys didnt rate so well? tell me. let's get a good list going of games for me to look through. i will only pick one or two games to buy, then ill be set for a good amount of time again.

Red dead got boring quick

o shatttt. well i played assassins creed 2 and it sucked.

red dead redemption is GTA in the west. gay. DEAD SPACE is one hell of a badass slash game. good story. it is pretty long it took me a week to beat. and i swear itll scare the **** outta ya. and a sequel comes out in a few months so. you really need to research this game. other than that. Jericho is pretty good but not new. Silent hill and the Resident Evil games are always good but youve prolly played those

I'm going to say Red Dead Redemption. I went into the game blindly off of a recommendation of an assistant manager at my job. I bought it on release day, and was not at all disappointed. It's a game that I easily put 40+ hours just into the campaign. When I bought the game I had hernia repair surgery about 2 days later, this forced me to have 2 weeks off of work to recover. I probably played that game for 3 or more hours a day in those two weeks. The game has everything that I constantly am hoping for in a game. Gameplay that mates with an amazing story/campaign, ingenuity, originality, everything that modern games LACK is here. I have 100% completed the game and have touched multiplayer maybe twice. From the ambient challenges, to the stranger missions, it is never a same playthrough. The replay value is so amazing, and the game is so fluid. I loved every bit of it and I am a VERY critical gamer, most games tick me off with their garbage stories, constantly cliche gameplay, and retarded characters. The game hits every note, comical characters, in depth story, and originality. This game comes in an extreme close second to the Bioshock series to me, pick it up, you won't be disappointed.

Buy a wii. Play super Mario bros. Problem solved.

is bioshock on ps3?
that is a fun game
same with oblivion, but thats only xbox

Yea Bioshock is on ps3 as well. A definite game worth grabbing, it's $20. Bioshock 2 is amazing also. The new trailer for Bioshock Infinite looks freaking awesome too.

But, Bio if you are into maybe waiting a bit, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit comes out in November.

I'm pretty pumped for it, but sadly Ferrari will again be a no show. With Criterion developing it now I bet it will be phenomenal. Well, atleast i hope it will be.

i may end up picking up red dead redemption and tekken 6, just so i have a game to play when other people come over. so far ive been selfish and i dont have any games to play multi-player with any of my friends. i also dont really care, but yeah.

red dead is cool. story line for the most part was good! the online play is so f*cking sweet. blows cod out the water in my opinion. its basically a cabela's game and a grand theft auto in one!

you'll understand if u do buy it!
