Wasn't real sure where to post this or if anyone has any ideas. I just recently picked up a 98 GTP about 2 months ago and so far with the help of this forum the car is like new again. But something I've come to find is the seat belt seems to act like a guilitine at times on my neck. From pics that I've seen of other members it doesn't appear that these cars came with any type of seat attached seatbelt restraints. The belt just runs from the door pillar to the bottom of the seat.

I'm a big of a bigger guy and was thinking about taking some headrest retraints from something like a caviler and seeing if they would match up. Any thoughts or ideas on this? i'll continue my search.

    Thanks.

I dont know if this will help, but they do make devices you can buy in stores that adjust where the seatbelt crosses your body so that its not digging into your neck. I dont know if all GTP's have them, but mine has these loop extensions on the head rest, probably more of a guide than anything, but it serves also to force the seatbelt out a little bit and I have not had any problems with it digging into my neck.

    Hope that helps.

the top of the seat belt where it goes into the B-pillar is adjustible on my GP, so it may be on yours, use that to try and find a comfortable position?

Don't train traps and maybe you won't notice it? Just kidding. But for real, I notice it more on days I train traps or shoulders.

I think those plastic devices that Syn talked about were mostly on the 2dr GPs. I know my 98 2dr GP GT did not have them. I think it was around the 2000+ year model that they started incorporating that bracket on the seats to keep the belt lower on the shoulder and not chokin ya. I have not seen any 4dr model GPs with that belt bracket on them. I think mostly because of the position of the belt in the 4drs is different than the position in the 2drs.

I had some of those padded PONTIAC belt pad things that went over the belt and I positioned it on my neck to give me the maximum comfort. It helped someone what, but didn't cure the problem entirely.

Would rather drink bleach then go ricer!

Thanks for the suggestions. I did find another post for the head rest seatbelt loops but I think they are for 2000 and newer. I've off to hit the yards and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the responses!
