I've been looking at the passenger airbag for a while, and I'm not sure how the airbag escapes the dash. There doesn't seem to be a panel that pops out like in most airbags. Does the whole dash explode in your face? I hope not... Is their some sort of weaker plastic in the center? Does anybody got any pics, stories, or explanations? Please tell me I'm not the only one who's thought of this

I don't know run into a wall or something and find out... there has to be an invisable split in it where it seperates.

The back is designed with an area to bust through. I just pulled the dash out of an 05 and I will try to post pics of the back of it tomorrow. But when it goes off the entire dash cover must be replaced. Unlike the 97-03 with the panel.

there's a rectangular area that it pops through the dash. trust me, i've experienced this

Quickly looked this up, An auction on ebay and if you view the other pictures you will see from the other side where the airbag comes out. It just rips through the weak spot on top of the dash, Alot of dashes are like this now days.

Even some dashes with airbag covers actually tear the dash as well, In my old 03 sunfire somene cut me off and the whole dash would have had to be replaced had they decided to fix it.
