total it, buy it back, part it out, get out of grand prix's.
You guys are horrible.
anyone know how i would go about getting a Salavage title so i can keep the Grand prix?
as it stands (Before i submit my recepits to increase value)
They want to Total it out and keep it for 5 Grand.
or i can keep it and they pay out 4 grand.
Status Update: #1
I spoke with Steve from Regal cars of Florida (Dealership owner who has the 03 LE) and he said he more then likely can go to the price we spoke about a few months back (7 grand for the 03 LE with 69K)
collecting my recepits to send to USAA so they can increase the Value (Not dollar for dollar, but a percentage)
Confirmed 7300$ out the door with Taxes and all.
so its going to be like 6600$ + taxes and stuff
When its KBBed at $9,475 and I'm getting it for 7 Grand
Good deal right? 69k miles
My 2001 F-150 was bluebooked at $4200. I am getting $8334.59 from my insurance. They valued my truck at $7500 (don't know how or why?), plus tax, and unused portion of my registration. I have AAA. I would think that your car would be worth more? I thought USAA was good. But then again, the girl who totaled my truck, was insured through daddys USAA. They are not covering my loss, my insurance is. Basically, I think that AAA will sue her dad to cover my $8300 check.
Hopefully it works out for you. You should be able to salvage title that car.
I don't understand the dilemma here?
buy a junk yard motor, rebuild it, then put it in...
$1000 total cost if you do it wrong....
USAA is saying my car is a total loss no matter what the **** i do.
their estimate on repairs is wrong in the firstplace (They claim 8 grand)
i got documentation for a new engine for 6 grand
and i can rebuild it for less then that.
Some **** about a certificate of destruction.
Why did you report it at all?
If it's a COD, then the car is no longer able to be registered again, and is basically %100 parts car.
If I were you, this is what I would do:
Get the car back and take the $4,000.
Part the car out.
Save all of the money you got, and buy something else, nice and reliable.
You'll have a estimated amount of around $9,000.. + whatever you make off the parts.
You can get something nicer then a GTP for 10,000+
Think about it.
