So im going to paint my stock rims. Before anybody freaks out im doing them the stock silver. i was just wondering if anybody has any tips. i just want to spruce them up a lil. there getting some corrosion on them. on the lip where the weight goes its kinda like a brushed look. any idea of how to keep that same look. or maybe just polish it? dont have the cash right now to get any aftermarket rims. thats a future thing.

so long as you sand it down real nice so that the paint will stick to it then you wont have a problem with it. matching the stock paint, however, will be harder than you think.

I would do them like this, flat gunmetal in the centers. Or a flat medium gray. Don't laugh at me editing skills haha.

Good luck. Around here, wheels are the first things to go off cars in the yard. Look at what's on craigslist for your area.

Dumb question.. but since im learning this stuff as I go i figure i'd ask....

If i take the wheels off.. do i have to get an alignment done afterwards? or can i take them off paint em, and put em back.. and if so can i rotate them without any problem???

Figure id ask the dumb question, someone else might need to know too lol

You don't have to get them aligned after but if you have directional tires make sure you put the wheels back on the right way. If you have directional and you want to rotate them just go front to back and back to front don't flip sides.
