Saw this guys video of him starting his 3.1L V6 Mclaren Turbo on his engine stand.

What im wondering is what equipment is he using to do this? How do u turn the car off? Just running a hose to a tank of gas? Please enlighten me on how this can be done and how to do it.

im not sure why youd want to do this, but the guys that usually do it end up using a stand alone fuel management system.

i'v built 460 big blocks and made a stand out of 4 by 4, its not hard. just make a panel to hold gauges and extra radiator for cooling. you can break it in and also check and repair any leaks easier plus make your final valve adj easier. with new cam etc you should run at least 1500 to 2000 for 15 min and seat your lifters to cam.( now computer systems i;v never done them.) then when install can get on.

roller cam does not require that same break in.

you can run it for a few mins with out coolent. but if your doing it to check for leaks on gaskets and what not, you better have some coolent lines hooked up because it could take some time for these leaks to become apparent.

i wouldnt run 1 min without the coolant hooked up. extra rad for hookup means what it says, hoses thermo and all and a bff.

We have some series 1 3800 on stands at school. Have the whole engine wiring harness on the stand.

There is no write up saying how to do anything. That is what the how to section is for...
