Grand Am GT's never came with a Ram Air hood. All Ram Air hoods are aftermarket or part of the SC GT package which was ORIGINALLY going to be a supercharged Grand Am, and instead became an appearance package. It was also going to have different bumpers/skirts, instead it just got a different hood and spoiler.
On the regular Grand AM GT you'll notice those thin slot grilles without a grille insert. That's the ram air.
As far as that ad itself go, I think it's probably BS. No listed mods, and when modded most people dont even have a BHP number, only a WHP number.
Don't ask me why I know so much about Grand Am's... I just do. >_>
Don't mean to pee in your soup but your off on this statement. 99-05 did... hood is the same, body is the same, 99-05 GT had it as a factory option. Submitted #12498263 GM Hood Pkg - Retail $2625.15 came with the highlighted parts in the illustration:
Now I will agree, most people with GAs probably have an aftermarket option apposed to the GM original, but there is an option for it in the later years... point... never say never
EDIT: 99-05* all GTs had the optional package from GM
