Needs some work but might end up being a sweet find at 800 bucks

ya it could be a gold mine. If the hood was fixable, the tranny was actually fine, and it just needed a winshield + plugs/wires + window motor it would be a hell of an easy flip. It could easily be way worse in person though. Might need lim gaskets, new tranny, new hood, new winshield, injectors, wheel bearings, bodywork. Who knows. But if I had 800 free dollars right now and more ability I'd certainly give it a look.
I would put $100 on its a POS and more problems than they even let on.
You can see the hood pins in the picture, likely left off and caused the hood to come up, even cheap Autozone hood pins work, so it was owner error. If they are using those hood pins its likely got other cheap mods slapped on it, like a smaller pulley without supporting mods. After all the factory hood latch is suppose to work with that hood, so pins are needed.
Some 98s still had the vacuum tranny and were weaker than the 99+ models, so its probably on its way out, especially if owned by a kid that had no idea what he was doing and just dogged the piss out of the car everyday.
well thank gawd i've got a 99. avoided all that old BS.
yay.
