Ok, so what i'm looking to do since i just switched jobs and i'm now making some bank is to finally do a swap on my S10, its an 03 with 111k and dropped 4 in. so its about time. Now as we all know the s10 is probably the most dropped and swapped vehicle EVER, so i do still wanna be kinda different. Now i know some people have done L67's, and Ecotecs, and i thought about building the junk 2.2 for boost and you can turn like 250 out of em with some bank and work...but its still a 2.2.

I currently have a nv1500 manual trans, but can get a BW T-5 out of a 96 pretty easy, so whats the better trans and what bellhousing would bolt to the L67?? I doubt my s10's would so thats a main issue. Everything else would just be some fabing and fun. Theres to many sbc swaps on em and i just want something you really just don't see. Let me know what ya think and any ideas or input that could be good or bad for trying this.

would the camaro flywheel work cause i know the rwd 3.8 is alot different then the fwd, also the 3.4 is the same bellhousing also right? and what about pilot bushing? You think camaro would work or have to have one made. I think the headers will be fun to make though!

The 3800s between fwd and rwd are virtually the same.

What are you going to do for pcm/electronics/wiring? That may be the hardest part.

When I had my firebird, on firebirdv6.com someone put a l67 in a camaro but they had to chop the crap out of the firewall and stuff, but I think it would be fine in a S10. if you get a camaro/firebird tranny, hook up a 5 speed to that L67. =]

thats the plans, and i've seen a lot of em in f-bodys but you can't clear an intake, so they either get M90's off ford SC's or have em machined, looks like it should work in the truck though. My main question is would my NV1500 work on that? I can buy a bellhousing from a 3.8 f-body for like $50, now if my trans will bolt to that and it will bolt to the engine i should be in good shape, and is the w-body starter pass or driver side??

also more considering a L36 bottom end since there cheaper and easier to find and just top swapping that, might as well start a little stronger

update, just found out the NV1500 bellhousing is part of the trans. So i'm currently looking at a T-5 out of a 95-96 S10 which has the proper starter position and should handle the power better then the NV1500, from what i've seen and been told the T-5 is good up to around 350, and i have a buddy who happens to have a Tremec layin in his shop torn down i could get dirt cheap!

Thought about doing the same for my 1995 Sonoma I have.

Then decided to be "one of those guys" and install me a built LT1 383 stroker, with a Procharger a-pumping, and a T56 6-speed going back to a mini tubbed rear end with a GM 10 bolt narrowed and regeared with a LSD installed.

So far have the truck, the engine, the complete wiring harness and PCM, and the Procharger. Just waiting on time and motivation to start the project.
