Yes...bigger aftermarket...RWD...V8 exhaust note...and it is a perfect platform to mod. WAY better than the W-Body IMO.

    to mod or to purchase?

Modding them isn't that expensive, its getting one that hurts the wallet the most.

Because it was offered with a v8 so I would get one with a v8.

Yeah i bet it will, I am just partial to the v8 for the sound and the massive aftermarket for the lsx engines.

v6 firebirds are lame. v8s are more expensive to own, more expensive to drive, more expensive to buy, more expensive to insure, more expensive to.....

but they're rwd and fun as hell, and you can get a stick! and big gears! and bigger wheels and tires....

I think an F-body is a downgrade compared to a w-body as far as creature comforts and room goes. If you want something RWD/V8 thats comparable to a GP you need to look for a GTO or G8 hands down. An F-body is a completely different platform altogether.

I've always wanted to pick up a L36 Firebird with the 5-speed trans and stuff an L67 in it. My inspiration being the Commodore. Aside from that T/A hands down. Looking into buying one myself.

To clarify though... LS1 T/A.. LT1 I'd take with a stock GTP and a tune, let alone how it sits now. Also I've seen built to hell LT1s get taken out my LS1's with nothing more than a cam haha
    98 Grand Prix GTP L32, GenV, n*, 3.2", 1.9 rr's, 3.29 gears. All that jazz SOLD
99 Mustang GT Steeda UDPs, 3.73s, Pypes O/R xpipe, Accufab plenum, Steeda CAI, B&M ripper, MHS s2 cams, 10.5:1 compression (290whp/310wtq) SOLD

cant fit a top swapped motor into the T/A or camaro without a hood. had a friend that was very close to that setup.
