my GP is almost paid for and the wifey wants a new whip, guess she's tired of the cavi lol...anyways she wants a small compact car with boost! lol yeah trying to be like me...so she's stuck between a cobalt ss and a neon srt-4. which I can't be mad at her, i'd be nice to drive the piss outta her car on the weekends. but if anyone knows any downfalls to these vehicles or reasons why not, speak now or forever hold ur peace. I'm thinking she wants to mod it alil. Personally I think she's been watching too much TV but it's her car, I am the one who talked her out of a freaking doodle bug

    all comments appriciated.

well, from experience with a cobalt ss, i had one for 2 years, never had a single problem with it, whatsoever, and it always ran strong. not to mention, they look so much better then the neon, seriously. it looks more intimidating(as much as a little car can) and its not so round and gay lookin. ive never drove a neon, my wife has a regular one, one of our neighbors has a srt-4, and he has had alot of problems with parts breakin on it, that could be cuz he tears the **** outta it all the time tho. and even tho the srts are supposed to have more power, i never had and problem beating them with my ss. driver error most likely, but that just means the srt 4 clan are lousy drivers lol. id stick with gm. u get a better vehicle, and more familiarity.

+1 for cobalt. But make sure you get an 08+ with the turbo, s/c is way too underpowered.

Me personaly, i love the srt-4. Test drove 1 and fell in love with it, but i cant afford it rite now. I dont much care for the cobalt, every1 has there opinions of course, but i would choose the srt over the cobalt any day. If i were to get any type of turbo car at the moment i would have to go with a wrx. I had 1 and with $1200 worth of ebay bolt ons, i was already racing sti's. The motor i will say is a little more complicated, not as bad as people say, but u cant beat the performance, drivability with the all wheel drive, and the sound of a boxer engine. Also they r not very expensive to get. I had a 2002 bug eye, which personaly i think was the best body style they made. Just my 2 cents.

I would go with the cobalt. I will never own a neon, unless I buy one for $100 and demo it.

    I dont consider the srt-4 a neon. 2 me its an srt-4. Neons r 2.0l. U cant consider a stock 230hp 250tq 13.8 1/4 mile srt-4, if u can drive, a neon. Thats y every1 debadges them. But 2 each his own.

    Cobalt SS. Awesome car.
I can't stand the srt4, I know a couple guys that have em, they're kinda quick i'll give em that, but in the end it's just s ****ty, featureless, pos neon. They suck as a DD.

Cobalt SS. Even Car & Driver likes them, and for them to like a non-BMW is almost unheard of.
The SRT is a.....Dodge. Mechanically speaking, they suck.
