    Hey guys,

I know this may be a little taboo but I didn't see a thread about this over here. Mike is doing a group buy on Scan Gauges for $150 shipped over on ClubGP. They look like a great unit and a good answer to anyone who doesn't have a scanner. The unit is small and compact and can fit right on your steering column if you choose.

Before everyone asks, yes, it does read KR. Anyway, Here is the link to the manufacturers site if you want to check it out. The link for the group buy can be found under the "sponsors specials" section of ClubGP.

I think I'm going to get one after researching them a bit. They are on ebay all day long for $159 shipped. I'll pay the extra $9 to not have to wait until he figures out a cutoff date.

It has "Add-a-gauge" now so you can add the KR gauge to it yourself, along with several others. And at no extra charge I might add.

I did not know this. Well, if it has that kind of access, then why couldnt it monitor things like tranny fluid temp and stuff like that. I might have to now revisit this thing a bit.

I thought they all displayed KR. I know a lot of people with these and they all read KR just fine. I looked into them before they were even on the market and said they would display KR back then before they were out. I have read a number of problems, no lighting working, not powering up, intermittant operation, etc, but as far as I know the latest versions havent had any issues like the earlier ones.

Interesting find.... Every one that I have seen/used in a customers car has always been able to read KR, LT and ST fuel trims.

Well, guess I'll have to sneak that in as a 'project' I need to complete.

If it reads the data link port...won't it basically do the same things that the aeroforce gauges do right out of the gate?

Looks like it will, it's just not programmed to begin with to convert the data is what it looks like to me. All that code you have to enter in the Add-a-gauge looks basically like it is it's deciphering tool to decode the information it's reading. For the price, I don't mind adding in the codes and really, since it will display 4 parameters at once, you're getting what you can only do with 2 aeroforce gauges.

My only dislike is it's odd shape. Not as easy to find a spot to put it as a 2 1/16" gauge and not have it look ghetto.

Mike has a picture of it on his dash displaying KR. I figure for $150 shipped, it's not a bad deal.

I like my aeroforce a lot...

They might have problems wiring up the scanguage, in my 01 gtp I have to use a seperate power source, some years get the power from the obdII, some years won't power up without a good power source.

X2 I absolutely love mine....probably some of the best money I've ever spent on things for the car.

The scan gauge looks like a great deal, if you could figure out a sweet way to mount and trim it up, I'm sure it will be a worthy project.

I hopped on that group buy. I like the idea of something small to toss in once in a while for monitoring.
