Pictures from the installation of Iron Indian's custom built transmission today.

Obviously as you can tell from some of the pictures, it wasn't exactly the best day to spend outside since it never got above 32 degrees and rained like no other in the evening.

But even with the freezing temperature the job still got done, and we've got quite a few random pictures to prove it.

    **The New Tranny**

    **The Old Tranny**

    **Uninstall/Install Pictures**

It was water, now it's ice.

    After the install.

Then we decided to take pictures of the obvious difference between 6000k HID headlights/fogs compared to "Not recommended for street use" blue show bulbs and 55 watt fogs. (I don't think I need to point out who had the HID's)

Thanks guys. I think most of the tuning bugs are worked out. It seems to work good although I haven't been able to hot rod it at all. Its been pouring rain since I left Wichita Falls at 1am!!

So far I like the firmer shifts and the converter doesn't seem too loose at all. I think the 3,000 stall is about right for me. There seems to be a noticable amount of low end with the 3.29s, I think traction will be more of an issue than before.

Before getting too hard with it i'll probably break it in a little. Not sure how long I should though. I'll most likely drop the pan at 10,000 miles to see how things are going. I hope those custom pans are availible then!

No problem McPeek, we'll meet up again another time.

Tomorrow i'll be doing my valvesprings and maybe my headers too. Hope to get most everything done while i'm on vacation...

btw, nice pictures Street Wolf. Nice to meet you and everyone else, hope to come back and visit too (next time to have fun of course).

I wish my car didn't have that ugly bra on it though, I hate that damn thing. Oh well, it saves everything for road trips I guess.

Thanks to the Wichita Falls GP guys and Overkill for all there helped and getting this project together.

Who want to help me tomorrow with the next stage?? :-)

    Cool man, nice work!

Since you removed the struts from the spindle/knuckle you getting an alignment next? Or did you do the cool little money saving trick of marking the bolts before they were removed?

So, now you have a great new working tranny, we'll see you in Branson this year riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight?

Today I did the next stage... Added CC 105# Valve Springs, CC Retainers, PRJ Viton Valve seals, PRJ Reuseable Rocker Bolts, new Valve Cover gaskets, put front valve cover in the rear and FINALLY install the Animul polished valve cover I won at the first Branson meet. Hope I did everything right. Won't know until I start her up tomorrow! Crosses fingers.

Tomorrow the TOG Headers will be going on, get the DP welded, Install new tie rod ends, and turn the rear rotors and install new pads.

And Tuesday get the car fully aligned and enjoy it.

As for Branson, I should be going. I scheduled the time off. The reason i didn't make it last year was because of work. I need to make reservations at the Fall Creek...

Well... I got the headers installed but that was it. The biggest problem was the trans dipstick, thats what ended the project. I donno how the hell some of you guys modify you dipstick tubes, but I messed with mine for 3 hours and no matter what I did i couldn't get a good angle, plus it ended up looking like ****. Since I cannot properly bolt it down, the car is staying put till I come up with a good solution. I did start it briefly though and moved it a few feet. Louder than hell but it ran. It going to be fun driving it 15 miles to an exhaust shop open headers and not getting pulled over...

I know Rick, TooMch, from our St. Louis club had purchased the Toggs Extremes and had to purchase a new Dipstick tube to solve that very issue you have. You might wanna hit him up for info on it. I know it was a modified tube for sure. Past that, he would have to tell ya more, on pricing and whom he purchased it from.
