DeLoreans? Wow...I'll look into that.
G8 and even GTO parts are still pretty easy to find as they are still pretty new.
I go to ZZP, 3800 performace or Ed Morad for GP specific parts.

i wonder if they will still honor the recall i still need to get done. (head gasket)
I don't see way not. There's a recall on N/A 3800's for engine fires that starts in May. And May isn't even here yet.
2008 GM Vehicle Sales
Chevrolet 1,801,131
GMC 376,996
Pontiac 267,348
Saturn 188,004
Cadillac 161,159
Buick 137,197
Hummer 27,485
Saab 21,368
Total 2,980,68
I hate to say this, but GM doesn't need Pontiac. The G8 and Solstice, which could easily be rebadged. GM's only brands that have significantly different models from Chevy are Hummer (no need to explain why this needs to go), Saab (sales unfortunately don't justify keeping), and Cadillac.
Looking at the sales numbers above, all of their other brands put together can't add up to Chevy's sales. As a high end luxury brand, Cadillac doesn't need high sales volume to make money. However, Cadillac's the only GM brand who's name has enough cachet to mark up its cars enough to be profitable without high volume.
The multiple brand paradigm worked in the 50's, but times have changed. IMO, GM really only needs Chevy and Cadillac.
Yea, i heard about this thur the Sema webanar i was watching Thursday Its still speclation atm. But some of the people that where talking are in the know and what they say is there going to a merge more or less and buicks and pontiacs will be put in the same name plate. This is going to make the G8 cheap soon
but honesty they should narrow down things and have less cars that compete with each other. And work on making stronger named products.
this is a sad sad world =[ screw buick or saturn keep pontiac!
2008 Delorean - Is Back
I've driven by that warehouse where he builds them. It's awesome. If I were ever in the position to buy a fun car, I might consider buying one some day. Some have stuck some monster engines in them and they can best Porsche's.
I have wanted one for a long time, but I cant justify spending that much for one.. I'd rather buy a fully loaded G8.
See its their global platform thats doing oh so much better then GM ever has.
GM owns parts, most of GM's ideas since the early 50's have come from australia. all of our muscle cars well the 60's versions were all holden designs.
1953 holden had a ute out, wow GM didnt bring the us version of the ute until 1959 in the form of the el camino, and just like GM ford did the same thing but ford au is a direct link to ford US.
they arent another "division" its GM's global market.
Anyone who has served overseas has seen this especially in europe and the middle east, not to mention japan.
Besides holden has been in business since 1856, its a partnership not a division of GM. Holden had 1.3 billion in exports in 2006, GM spent that much on a redesign of the camaro and corvette.
Like I said maybe Holden should buy out GM this time around, its obvious that this entity does far better in auto sales and development then GM does.
All you GTO owners, you coulda gotten a real monaro shipped over for under 20 grand US.
I was watching Fox News last night and at the bottom it said "GM TO PULL PONTIAC" it didn't say anything about hummer or saab. I waited for them to talk about it but they was talking about dog the bounty hunter or something like that.
Yes, they are a division of GM.
Holden - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaGM Holden Ltd is an Australian automaker based in Port Melbourne, Victoria. The company was originally independent, but since 1931 has been a subsidiary of General Motors (GM).
That's the same way that GM acquired Oldsmobile. GM set up office on top of Holden the same way it did all its other divisions. Holden does so well because they are outside the US. GM does great everywhere but its home turf. Chevies are sold overseas and do great too (having nothing to do with the Chevies here) and Chevy is still a division of GM. A subsidiary cannot buy out its parent company... That'd be like your son trying to buy you with the allowance money you gave him.
It all goes back and forth with Holden, too. The 2006 Commodore was their first solely Australian designed car since 1971.
Hate to see it happen but then again i'm a GM fan so if this means pushing back the name for awhile to get out of the mess they caused, thats ok by me.
I'm just glad I have 2 Pontiac and drive GM cars, thats all...
NOW OFFICIAL the plans have been leaked to the press one more factory will also be close and dealerships will drop something like 40% from just over 6200 i heard to almost half of that but pontiac still has until 2010 when phase out will be completed
Buick is huge is China, so it won't be leaving. And as someone else said, it's a mid-level luxury line like Mercury is and Plymouth was. But Plymouth is gone, and Ford keeps saying they may drop Mercury since it's ALL rebadged Fords. At least the G8 was Pontiac specific. If the Saturn dealers buy the Saturn line, I wonder what will happen to a lot of the rebadged cars - Vue, Skyy, etc.
