I know this isn't gp related but I am almost at my last resort. I went to bleed the brakes on my 08 Silverado because it's never been done and there's 114k miles on it. The rear brakes bleed just fine. Moving to the fronts I started the bleed procedure and then started getting air. I thought that was weird. As I continued looking for a steady stream it never came back. It looks like I bled them so much that I removed all the fluid from the front lines because as fluid was coming out the reservoir wasn't going down. I removed the master and bench bled. Got lots of air out. Put it back on, bled the rears, no problem. Moved to the front and nothing. No fluid or air. I've read the ABS module might need to be manually opened using a tech 2, but everywhere else I see on you tube and other forums nobody is having this issue. I've been bleeding brakes for 30 years and have never had this much trouble. Anyone on here ever heard of this kind of problem?

I figured it out with some help. Apparently with this model/year I needed to pull the ABS fuses to open the module. After I did that I was able to get it to bleed.

Well, that's a new "feature". Would have never thought of that. I'll shove that in the memory banks for sure as this is the kind of stuff that would piss me off on what should be a simple fluid flush/bleed.

Ya, a simple brake bleed that took me a week to figure out and finish.

I take it you have to have the motor running or the key on at least to use this procedure?

I can't remember exactly since it was a while ago. I kind of remember having the key on. The motor was not running.
