I guess I can understand to some degree!!

One reason why "veteran" members of this site, who know what they are talking about, get pissed is because they get greatly annoyed with answering the same questions over and over again. Ultimately causing them to stop answering answering those questions.

My example of a major annoyance is the failure of those who do not use the Search feature.

Check out post #9 and see what this member had to say in this link: http://www.grandprixforums.net/f81/o...ion-10531.html

So I see what you're saying Street! You are/were an asset to this community and would be a great loss of knowledge if you decided to stick with your decision.

I know what you mean about the community changing, thats been going on forever. Keep in mind, I started this game back in 1999, became an offical member of ClubGP forums in 2000. Alot has changed over the years, these cars are getting cheaper and easier to obtain by anyone and everyone. Hate to see you go but at the same time I can understand.

I've said this many times and I'll say this again. If I was relying on a local community or a club to help me out and be there for me when I needed them, I would of been out of this game years ago. Thats not what has kept me in the game, its been a simple love for the car only. To do anything similiar nowadays Branson is about it for me. It sucks some times not having people to hang out with similiar cars, work on and bull**** about GPs, help do some things, drink a few beers, etc... but i'm quite used to it by now. You're lucky to have a few GP guys locally to hang with on the weekends or what not, you really are.

BTW, I appreciate the help with the tranny install, that was my first FWD tranny install. It wasn't as much of a pain in the ass I thought it was going to be. Chris and Bobby are stand up guys and know there ****. I need to go down there one night to cruise around or what not. Maybe grab a couple beers or something. All you guys are welcome and have a place to stay if ya wonder up to OKC.

Good Luck Chris and take care. Keep in touch with me, e-mail or (preferably) phone...

Who cares who owns this car. thats what cars were made for is to be sold, resold and sold again. People will do what they want to the car, thats the whole thing of customizing a car, is to make it your own. I guess if you dont want people to own the same car as you, then should have bought something much more rare.

Of course they are getting cheap... they are getting older, value depreciates...

and besides there are several members who have come and go, if you wanted to say bye then just say bye, no need to drag out what you think is wrong with this forum or "the entire GP community".

Oh and btw Street, STI's, Vipers, Vettes and all the other high end automobiles that you said suck, are much better, and reserved for much more affluent people than the people who own GTP's. Might be my opinion take it as you will but Im not that heart broken. I do wish you the best of luck though as d-baggish as that is.

oh and I dont want any flack from the other members. this is just my opinion and I think its rather stupid grounds to give up on something or even an entire community just because you don't like "what other people are doing with their cars.

The popular body style, 97-03, has been gone for 6 years now so these cars have definately aged and been handed down and I see more and more where guys that bought their brand new 97-98-99 GTP to keep forever are now putting them up for sale and dont really want to have anything to do with them anymore and also moving on. Again, more power to you to go your own route and do your own thing, thats what I have always done though I have been in this community since around 02ish and never even owned a 97-03! My wife bought a 95 SE back in mid 99 so that was our play toy since I L67 swapped it in early 03 but I only really gained interest after a good friend of mine bought his near new 00 GTP in 01 and I saw the potential of the engine and trans. Back then things were night and day different and Thrasher and Grand Prix Store were the big companies lol. I have always had a soft spot for these cars regardless and still need to get one-more for testing than anything but have always loved the body style and it isnt something that is going to fall of the map any time soon as they did a great job on the style and it has certainly stood the test of time. Anyways fairwell and best wishes
i think 97-03's are the coolest looking grand prixs there are. i plan to keep my 2000 GTP hopefully for the rest of my life and build up to being a really sick car! They are just so sleek looking its so cool. I'll never outgrow this car i know that.

Well if that is the only/main reason you think he left, then you are miss-informed, but Um, I don't think Chris thinks Vettes Suck (he infact Loves the C-6 Vette), Vipers YES, umm well because they do unless its dry pavement in a straight line, STI's well they are imports, most are riced out and do suck but a few are actually modded properly and are fast and I respect those as does Chris...anyway your point in here other than to ***** about his reason for leaving being stupid was what again? (That was retorical if you were wondering...it needs no explanation by you)!!!

Like I said my opinion, didn't want any flack from the other members, or did you not see that part? ( also rhetorical ) but i guess being his buddy you would feel obligated to do so... have a good day.

I agree, I've had my 99 since 2002 and I picked up a 2000 a few years later. I haven't out grown them yet, there nice car. Very unique around here, you hardly ever see modded GPs around here...

Damn right! LOL. Maybe I should pick up a 3rd! LOL! Actully if I ever find a good solid/clean Pre-Gen or maybe a Turboed 97-03 for a decent price I maybe tempted to add another one to the flock.

Too easy and cheap to maintain and to have a little fun at the same time...

Yeah, I've owned my 97 GTP since 99 and have no plans on sending her down the road. And for anyone who doesn't want flack for posting there opinion, then don't post it. It's a forum and it's going to happen. Let's try and watch the language also guys. Not taking anyones side, just trying to keep this thread from getting locked from a bunch of bad language and arguing as other threads.
