    I'm just asking because I couldn't find any thing but what about a wrecked gto rip it down to the frame motor and tranny and "finness" a 06 Grand Prix body on top of the frame the wheel base is about .7 shorter but every thing would already be in place engine tranny shaft and rear end I was planning to do a swap when ever my GT kicks the bucket with a ECOTEC L67 but I thought about the gto

    What about using fbody parts with ls2 or ls3 and 6l80e since I'm almost sure the 4t65e-HD will die under the power

    GTO's are unibody cars, there is no frame.

    What's a ecotec L67, a new magical motor??

    the Australian 3800 made by Holden s2 or s3 I think they stopped making them in 04 it's rwd motor with a m90 supercharger basically the same as ours with a few key differences and makes a little more power and better mpg

    The Holden Market had the 94-09 series II moniker/marketing nomenclature, as the Ecotec v6
    In the Australian Market the series 2 3800 is our late model series 1 engine.... also known as the EV6/VN

    Good thinking. Lots of folks consider this and to me (using a Camaro instead) it's feasible, but I fear that nobody considers the legal aspect. It would suck to build an un-tag-able and un-insure-able street car.

    With The gto wouldn't it be easier already starting the the 5.7 ?? And that's why I wanna put my body on another frame State Farm doesn't raise the hood they didn't even take pictures of my car nd I'd have the only rwd Grand Prix in New Orleans lol I would have just got an gxp but I've see too many on car lots with oil leaks worse than my GT

    Camaro is like the GP's RWD sister. They actually can share a few parts. Not so with the GTO. Why would you want a 5.7 anyway? Choosing a different year gets you a 6.0.

    BTW, buying a policy isn't the same as having coverage. If SF has to pay a claim, that's when the nasty surprise could happen. They do not fully cover cars modified in any way that affects crash rating. Liability only would be what you end up with, if even that. You'd really need hot rod type insurance.

    Fbody swap with an 06 has anybody else done it all I've seen was a 2 montes on YouTube not including the twin engine beast I saw and another older body GP but that was done using s-10 Frame id rather the fbody as I can find one on Craig's list easy

    if you get a camaro a turbo is easier to make work. and will make you smile ear to ear im sure lol

    to make a sc work you need to mod the tb side by cutting off whats there and adding a U turn and tube off the blower for the tb. so it clears the fire wall.

    Not to repeat myself, but none of the cars we have talked about actually have a frame. There is no metal frame the body bolts too, it's a unibody car with a front and rear subframe that only fits what came on it from the factory. Anything like sticking a V8 in a grand prix body with a rwd transmission and rear end would be fully custom.

    I've looked into that I've came up with 1 guy who used the drive train from an ls2 vette and parts from Fbody to to rwd a monte they were talking on the forum and said he wanted 8 to do it if you provided your own drive train

    This topic has been asked and asked and then asked some more. Your best bet if you want a rwd car is to buy a freaking rwd car. Just buy an LS Fbody or Goat or C5 Vette, any of these cars stock will do circles around most wbodies.
