Ladies and Gents,
This is a quick summary of some of the events we'd like to work on for MACGP for the '08 Calender Year. Obviously, all of these events are subject to interest and dates and times are in no way set. I'd just like to start placing some ideas in your heads about some possibilities and also hear from you about what you'd like to do next year. Have a good idea? POST IT! Matt Sunner and I will keep an eye on this and hopefully we can get some good feedback. Also, I'd like to extend the invitation to any other local clubs or those who are not a part of any to come and hang out.
January
MACGP Holiday Dinner. Champp's Bar & Grill in King of Prussia. Date TBD
March
End of March - Possible Rehoboth Beach Meet with SEVACGP/WDCCGP/JSCGP. I'd like to see if we can work out a meet with these clubs in our area and try to something where we can all meet, maybe do a bar crawl at the beach or something and we can get cheap hotel rates with it being off season. I need to reach out to each of these clubs to see if they'd be interested but I thought it could be fun. It'd be a great way to meet some new people and possibly plan future events with these groups. Early March - T&T @ Cecil. Might as well go while it's cool and see what happens.
April
Autofair - Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC. I know this is quite a hike for many. however, i think if it's out there well enough in advance, maybe we can plan a small crew who would be up for a bit of a road trip. Brian Siddle usually gets a block of rooms at one of the hotels for a pretty cheap price. We can even double up on some of the rooms to further drive down the costs.
April 4-6 Charlotte AutoFair - The Largest Collector Vehicle Event in the Southeast!
May
Yuengling Brewery Tour. Cause Carpy said so and it sounds really good. mmmmm beer! Date TBD.
June
Carlisle GM Nationals - Carlisle, PA. I know the guys who went last time had fun. It'd be cool to get a group to do this event and get a nice club presence out there. Summer BBQ @ My Place. BBQ's seem to be enjoyed by everyone so I'll keep the trend going of having a BBQ at my place. Sunner has a really good chicken recipe, we can do the usual burgers and dogs and so forth. Date TBD
August
Possible Mod Day somewhere. I know many of us are done modding cars or no longer have GPs. However, for the guys who still are modding, they can get some help and it gives us all a reason to hang out.
September
Drag Day @ Cecil. We'll have to look at the schedule when it is released and see if we all want to get together and do a club outing for a day of racing.
October
Jason's Woods, Eastern State, some sort of haunted attraction for halloween? we'll look into the details of that as it gets a little closer
December
Preston & Steve Camp Out for Hunger? Matt Sunner brought this idea to me about doing this. Possibly try to collect some canned goods or holiday toys, and try to get the club to support something like this. Might be a nice thing for exposure plus, it's cool to help people out. From what I hear, some good celebrity guests stop by. I'll let Sunner talk more about this and the planning if we decide we want to participate.
Holiday Dinner - We'll try to get it in during the holidays this time and try to find something that works for everyone. We'll talk about it as time gets closer.
