  1. Yeah I had a printed picture of the channel plate, and as I took the bolts out I punched a hole in the picture and put the bolt in it.

As for holding the gasket, the two options I listed are the only 2 I know of
  2. I was asking what was the easiest way to keep those channel gaskets on without them moving. But I think I have an idea now. How did you keep track of all the bolts you took off the trans? I thought I saw some paper printout for keeping track.
  3. Hi.
I'm not exactly sure what you're asking about the channel plate gaskets. They get replaced like any other gasket really. Just have to be aligned with the pins and additional temporary studs to make it easier so the gasket stays in place. You can also use assembly lube to hold the gasket in place, I found studs to work just a bit better.
The goop is called transmission assembly lube. There is an official product you can buy, but vasoline will work for diy'ers. It holds pieces together during assembly so things stay aligned correctly. The reason you need that or vasoline and not some random grease is because it's safe for use in a transmission.
  4. Hello, I watched your video when you replaced your 4th clutch shaft and solenoids and have a few questions. What exactly do you do for those channel plate gaskets? And also what was the "goop" you mentioned in your video, was is some kind of assembly gel? I'm going to be attempting this myself when I take my GP out of storage and any help would be appriecated.
