Weather here is beautiful right now. I really should be doing something with the truck. At the very least order the gas tank. I have the money. Unfortunately I'm sure it would just sit in the shed for months. My regular job has gone bananas, the transmissions just keep showing up, I have a Regal that still doesn't run right, working on a large vacuum form mold for a plastics company here in town... Oh, and a family that likes to see me every once in a while. It'll get done eventually. Just on a longer timeframe.
I know you've got an assembly line of other things that your working on, but I really dig this truck and I want to see it back on the road... or at least in the mud where it belongs.
You and me both brother. After what seems like a decade of malaise, the last couple of years have been really booming. For me personally at least. It's hard to shake the stress of those lean years. I'm doing what I can to earn as much as I can while it's available and my body is able.

Around here we love working in the sun... and resting in the shade of the many many trees we have everywhere.

A smelly machine.. I've been known to do engine and transmission swaps in shorts and bare feet.

And just like that my hours go from "Work as much as you want" to 32 per week. Proverbs 6:6-11

That's the plan. I have some stuff to keep me busy.

Got a break in the 60e building action. Going to spend a little time (and money) on this thing again...
I ordered up a fuel tank from an '87 K10 (I guess it's technically a V10 in '87?) and a bunch of fittings. Should be able to button up the fuel system shortly.

I'm sending it over to a buddys to get finished up. Like they say, the last 10% takes 90% of the time. And I just don't have the time. Since I started the 60e rebuilding, it's been one after the other. Turns out, there's no shortage of broken 60e's that need rebuilt. Surprise! I can't turn down paying jobs to work on my own projects, so I farmed it off to a friend. I'll build the trans in his TBSS as payment.

Truck is back home. It runs and moves under its own power now. Still some loose ends to sort out before it's ready for the road. The short list:
1.) Rig up a temporary intake to get the MAF in play.
2.) Change the shift linkage. The factory linkage binds because of the longer shift shaft of the 60e vs. the 700r4.
3.) Add a trans cooler. The lines are just looped right now. I have a Tru-Cool 40k on the shelf.
4.) Hook up the fuel level sender.
5.) Adjust the PCM calibration to accept the Dakota Digital pulse generator signal. That might take some trial and error, but I have the time.

Intake is rigged. Fuel trims are decent at idle. Pulled the truck around front to work on the VSS stuff and to count teeth on speedo gears.
