Wouldn't it make sense that if my boost was really fluctuating, that I would see some signs in the logs. When i go frame by frame and look at the way the MAF and RPM climb, there is no connection with the jerkiness of the MAP and boost lines. It's a smooth climb. And since I also see my boost gauge in car drop at high rpm, I'm thinking it has to be a vac line issue. Something that a smoke test won't show. Could just be a T connection that is just a little loose that only leaks over like 12 psi. I keep seeing 184 kpa plateaus. I see that number a lot. Yeah, so i'm really really certain this (umpteenth) time that I'm right. lol. I mean, it makes sense, no? Car feels fine. Yup, this has got to be it..... Maybe.... Might just need some zip ties on all the vac line connections.

Found a boost leak. It's leaking under supercharger near the throttle body. I let the smoke get a lot thicker before I blew it through and it made it obvious. So now I'm not sure if I'm going to mess with it, Wait till I get the Gen 5 on, or just put a larger goop of rtv on it without the supercharger gasket. When I just installed this gasket I put a smear of rtv on both sides of it. So it's either go big or go home or just wait for the Gen 5. I do feel a bit relieved though because I was beginning to think it was a valve train issue or something.

You probably know that I can't rest until an issue is sorted. So crazy that I get ocd like this about a car I rarely drive. Thinking I'm just gonna put a fat bead of grey or black rtv on it, let it sit a couple hours and torque it down. Don't like not using a proper gasket but I see intercooler guys do it.

just rtv is fine, just dont go putting a large bead down. its all gonna squeeze out. couple mm thick smear should do the trick.

I didn't go crazy. 1/8" bead and cleaned it real well. Gonna let it sit for a couple days. Half shafted the throttle body while it was out. Why not, I guess. Welp, see u in a couple days. Fingers crossed. Test n tune is in two weeks so hope this works.

Yeah, well....I couldn't wait more than 24hrs. Still wonky. But the car feels as good as it ever has. Oh well. I got to forget about it I guess. Good luck with that though. My brain says "hey! Maybe it's this!!...try this and that!!" Now I'm thinking it might be the map pigtail I got from zzp. I do remember when I first started this build their injector adapters gave me a fit. Had to ditch them.

Still have the leak. Same spot. Any other tricks to seal it up? Double gasket maybe? I used grey ultra rtv, maybe use copper? Crap, was supposed to go to track next week but I want to be in top shape. Probably need to have intake machined, possibly supercharger. What to do...

Is there a bolt missing at the back edge of the LIM?

Yup...I've missed it 3 times now. Yeah, I'm embarrassed to admit it, but it is what it is. For some reason I had one of those guide pins in the lim where that bolt goes. I must have stuck it in there last fall and never noticed I had a left over bolt. Yeah, I've had the boost leak since I did the cam. Smh

Yup, i'm a dummy. Think I'm ready to throw in the towel though, lol. Put another gasket on and it's still leaking. I smoked it real good when the engine was cold, no leaks. But after a run, boost is still same and my wot fuel is leaner than ever. Fuel trims have never been this bad. Thought i didn't connect something but everything looks fine. I'm stumped. Maybe the lim or s/c case is warped now and just won't seal. Probably didn't help driving it with 2 missing bolts. ya think?

two missing bolts is a huge vac leak. you'll need to retune the maf for sure.

Yeah but shouldn't it be showing rich now, if I use the tune that was dialed in with the vac leak? I'm confused now. Doesn't help that I was working in the sun all day. Crap I was light headed the last couple hours.of work, and still had to get this gasket replaced when I got home. I gotta just get this engine crap off my mind. It's a sickness lol. I've got too much stuff to do right.now.

with the leaks sealed up, it would be rich now.

Yeah, ok. Strange. It's worse than ever now. I saw 12.4 at wot. It's never been this lean. Thought it was meth kit not hooked up, but it's working fine. So somehow after all this I end up with a bigger vac leak. Go figure.

id turn the meth off, put the stock maf file back in. lower the timing a lot in your case lol then retune the maf, get it to mid 12's then turn the meth back on. see what the afr is, then adjust the maf as needed.

    Boost is back boys.

Don't know if the picture will upload. So I smoke tested again. Gave it a good soaking. Found a little leak at brake booster. But everything else is solid, no more s/c leak. I took your suggestion Scotty, retuned with wmi off. I'm still seeing fluctuations in boost, but it doesn't fall off as bad. I think I'm possibly getting belt slip still. My theory is when I turn wmi back on, i'll see more fluctuations. It might be putting more of a load on the blower making the belt slip. We'll see. If so it could be my idler. It does seem to move a bit more than i remember. I might post a video to show u. Thanks for the suggestion scottydog!

Edit: Misfires appear to be gone too! #4 was missing the most.
