Your missing the downpipe part that connects to the flex pipe
That's what I thought. Would be pointless if I ran with the stock downpipe. Could I even connect to it with what I have?
I got ahold of the guy. He said he forgot. Hope he will have them out tomorrow. Otherwise Ill just buy the new kit on eBay...which I'm kinda wishing I did now. Thought it would be nice to save 50 bucks. So....I may be selling a used, mostly comlete SD header kit soon
Yeah that's no problems. He's saying he's not sure he has the straight piece though. Isn't that the piece that deletes the cat? Looks like its flared and notched too. Anyways I'll just ask for money back if he doesn't have it and buy the complete kit from SD. I didn't save a few bucks just to to lose an hour or two modifying the exhaust.
if you sell them what would you ask? And its just missing the dp right?
haha okay. hmu if you decied
as long as hes got the goose neck with the v band and the cat back flange with the o2 bung you can either install a cat, or get a piece of 3 inch pipe at a muffler shop, just bring what you have so they can flair the pipe as needed for you.
i went used on a set of sd headers, have not regretted buying them one bit. best 100 bucks spent so far lol ( i did have to take them off the car they were on, still worth it)
Amazon simply amazes me some times. Here's the box my plugs came in....
Several heavy things on top of my poor plugs, including h balancer. Another box that came in was large enough to hold a valve cover, stuffed to the gills with packing paper...and contained one drill bit.
The exhaust pieces were found and will be heading this way today. So that's all good. One bonus is he included 2 band clamps.
Well, slight set back today. Turns out I have a crack in one chamber, between valves. He also said the exhaust seats should all be replaced. Saying they are smashed? The one with the crack does have a little lip under it like its been smashed. What would cause this?
Anyways, I'm going to go by Intense Monday and talk to John. Perhaps he has a line on a nice used set. Hopefully. I don't want to buy online or from yard and risk being in the same situation.
Plan is to finish the port job on the blower tonight so I can also take it in to intense to have bearings pressed in. Bought a bunch of stuff at Harbour Freight including a new electric die grinder and speed controller...and a big bag of sanding drums. Hope to make lots of aluminum dust and as few holes in the case as possible
I would still run that head (w/crack) ... Wanna send them to me?
lol...
and what does he mean by smashed valve seats? Lol
Most of our heads have cracks like that. It's not a issue.

I have no clue what he means by smashed seat. Never heard the term. Hoping someone here knew. I'll have John look at them and see what he thinks. I would love to hear that its fine to run. I have 170 in the things now and last thing I wanna do is toss them. I have new valves for them, but now that I know they have had a valve job I'm not sure I can use them. Wouldn't the stems need shortened?
He did say that the guides were good so at least he gave me a little good news. This shop builds multiple k HP engines so I have to wonder if he's forgetting that this is gonna be a sub 350 HP engine. I'm sure at 30+ psi the little imperfections become major issues.
