had some fun with trying to get the newer non PSM equipped trans to work......always stuck in 2nd gear limp mode
got it fixed now with the newer pcm swapped in which dhp finally let me program with the 03+ file
now i finally have 1-3rd no problem, even managed TCC lockup in 3rd. 1.00 ratio in 3rd. drives nice.
now need to renew the temp emissions registration
so the basics is that you can use the newer trans, but maybe some bin files wont let you delete/disable the trans diagnostics properly to keep it from going into a 2nd gear limp mode.
this necessitates going to an 03-05 Drive By Cable PCM and using an 03-05 bin.
the TR is now running a 05 monte carlo PCM with the 04 GS file from the JA regal
some differences in the pinout, mainly no wires for the PSM switches in the trans. all i had to do was a security learn (which i set to 3x 10 seconds like i always do)
Serv no 12583827
Hardware # 12582720
2005 monte carlo L36
just putting this here for some other sap with a 4t65e swap issue....plus i have to use the 03+ stuff to run the 4t80e that i can get a trans brake work with properly when number 12 shreds.

had the massive 16inch 2600cfm flexalite fan die recently. it was over 4inches tall and really close to the manifold....however since the car will probably never get the ac compressor put back on i got a thin fan 1600cfm summit brand. nearly 1 1/4inches more clearance...also put some of that sweet gold heat blanket from DEI over the fan motors to help reflect the IR heat at least.
also had the in tank 255 pump die....the turbine style bosch 044 inline pump still managed to produce fuel pressure drawing through a seized gearotor 255
tossed min a good pump and i may unplug the 044 since its running on the 9psi spring till it gets an 80e and we sell the GMR unicorns horn, queef, and converter i guess.
been driving the snot outta it. pretty reliable when you keep it below 27psi.
dear god though chicago streets have me wanting to put on 17's with huge sidewalls or at least replace the GR2 strut bodys with one of the pairs of front agx/zzp coilovers on ****ing MAX, from the twin engine 442 project (before we went to custom knuckles and SLA suspension).
then id have to swap over all the QA1 coiolover stuff with my custom hats/bearings/slack spring etc....and sell a brand new zzp coilover setup with an old GR2 as its core....which means i might as well put the gxp front and rear stuff on the hubs...
...this gonna snowball fer sure.
i recently scrapped 6 gen3 blowers and like 16 cylinder heads.... i kept all the minty cores rofl. so as a w body owner, you can slim down parts stockpiles somewhat, eventually....with great dificulty.

Also, of some small note.....
....i drove the 1984 Cressida WaGN for the first time a week ago. it was glorious. needs to be washed with fine steel wool or sumthin after 12 years
still tons of OE toyota electrical issues (this car has had them since new-the original owner i got it from bought the full set of service manuals in 85 so he could try to find a shop that could fix it. turns out front sump I6 toyota engines dont like to live at the top of a 7% grade and start to knock at 40k miles.
these electrical gremlins are my bane. but it drives! one tire fire rofl

I can't remember, but can't a gen III fit on the L67 originally with a genII?
I may end up with another GTP again soon... I miss the hell out of mine...
