Well folks I took your advice.. got the tranny rebuilt. Solenoids, planetary, cv axels..... the WHOLE NINE YARDS. I even got an external tranny cooler installed. All in $2900 at Aamco. Drove to work on Monday and had them haul it away before lunch. I get'em back tomorrow. Now I wont have to worry about the tranny failing me. What do ya'll think of the price? Did I over pay, under pay, did I get it just right?

Its hard to say, but I mean for a full R & R with a cooler I guess you can't complain too much here, plus you have a warranty through them.

Figure if you bought a TEP trans, you would be looking at a base price of ~1800 for a good one, plus the cooler, plus shipping and then having to have someone install the transmission for you. You would be at or over the $3,000 mark atleast.

That's describes my thought process too.

It was a waste if you didn't have the known tcc problems etc which are sonnax kit available from tep for like 10-20 bucks. But if you got a warranty then cool but it will fail from the same issues.

Just got my sled back from Aamco. Shifts are stouter and more noticeable.... but I actually like the feel better than the 'slippery' shifts I was getting before.

Ok.. I gotta come clean.. I had top posted that my whip is an 08. I musta been having some adult beverages ( or something a bit more.... ummmm... medicinal )... but I have a 06.. NOT an 08... my bad. Under "My Vehicles" I have 06 listed but last week I mis-led ya'll and I apologize..... I promise it wasn't on purpose. Please forgive me... I am a spazz.
