Did you order a pair of socks too with those? :P
Nope, my ugly ass Hobbit feet need to be free, lol. Just got back from the alignment shop, they pushed me back to 3PM. That sucks because I have to work at 3:10ish, so I have to walk to work. On top of that, I can't be there while they're aligning it. I'm going to tell them to write down the specs so I know what they are, then my wife has to go pick it up.
Turned out alright though, I went and took her through the touch-less carwash, which did a meh job. Better than it was. I almost got stuck in the yard and threw rooster tails EVERYWHERE. Kinda fun really. I went and picked up the kids so they could watch the car wash with all the pretty colors. Then sat in line at the car wash for about 15 minutes. Despicable Me 2 for the kidos until the fun began. After that I took her out on the open road to dry her off a bit and did one WOT run, got up to 3.3* of KR. Not too bad, better with the springs. Tail lights might go on here in a few, my wife has to put the stroller in the trunk when she goes to pick the car up and that's what cracked the old tail lights...so I might wait until tomorrow, lol.
Alignment is done, wife had to pic it up. She says the camber is all within spec, all around -1*. She also says it pulls a bit to the right, I'll have to drive and see. I told her beforehand if it pulled to take it back and have them fix it, why she didn't? Because Blonde Wife. Facepalm.
Welp, I feel kinda like a dick, but it happens. I drove it and first it drives like a brand new car (****ing better...it basically is). If it has a pull it is VERY slight. I'm gonna call the place tomorrow and ask if I can take it back (if I have problems) after my trip to Springfield this weekend. They seemed like really cool guys, so I doubt it'll be a problem. Tails go in tonight, and a few other random odds and ends in the morning and I should be done...except for the rust. LOL I've been putting that off long enough, don't you think?
i went back 5 times in as many weeks cause i was unhappy. and i think im going back, cause its pulling to the left on me again and the wheels off center, has been since i got it last done. time to use the warranty at another shop i think.
I would if I was you. This is a small town (village) so this is literally the only place. The guy who did it used to work at a factory 12 miles up the road build school bus suspension and seem to know what's up. The car is pretty much at that point where you aren't sure if it's the road or the car. I also haven't had it above 40 or so, That's why I want to wait until Saturday when I run up to Springfield for a JY trip\getting my core back on the rack.
Talked to the alignment guy, he said next week would be cool. He's booked for the rest of the week anyways, lol. He seems like a really cool guy, but so did the Quick Start guy. Tails are installed, I had to massage the rear a bit to get them to fit, but it wasn't too bad. They look GREAT!
I know i need to clean my tips, it'll happen.
Ok thanks Scotty, I will check it out!

Yea it's really not that bad, it is a lot easier if you have someone to help get it out. Kinda like changing a sway bar by yourself, you go from one side to the other and back again...about 50 times. I'd say the hardest part would be getting the steering shaft lined back up, but it's not even that bad...just one of those things where it's either really easy and slides right together or it's a total PITA.
Cool and thanks! Plus I will take the first option lol.

last time out i pulled the steering shaft down as far as it could go, then jacked the sub frame back up to the shaft and it lined up rather easy, once you feel it slide on a bit, raise the jack more till its on all the way, then bolt it back on and jack the frame up the rest of the way. this way your working outside the boot there and can get a finger on top of the shaft end.
theres a stop rivet, you can only pull it so far then it stops, maybe 3 inches past the boot bottom.
its when you lower the frame to much with the bolt in you can rip the shaft apart. i lower the frame 2 inches, take the bolt out, pop the shaft off with a screw driver, and get to work on the rest of the crap.
Oh well then yea, next time (hope not) will be cake-work, lol. I also got the stereo to sound a LOT better. It was being over EQ'd, I found another one that I thought was disabled, sounds WAY better, and I've yet to make the sub clip. I really wanna get this rust fixed so I can detail it nicely. I might even put it into a show after a few more small details...like the hood needing paint\vinyl\whatever I make up mind to do.
Maaaan- you've been busy. Whats this about rust now? I read back only a couple pages worth but I'm right here in the GP chair if you would like any rust coaching. I may be crazy but the hammer, welder, and spray gun are second nature to me so if I can help, I will.
