Oh my bad. Didnt know thats what you were looking for. That would explain the cost difference at the dealer and here......GM ACDelco - OEM L32 Supercharger Gasket #GM-12574474 too.

The site says you gotta replace them every time. But I guess if you inspect the current one and deem it to be in good shape then I guess go ahead and go for it.

It's not that much work to get to, and I think it's worth a ~$40 gamble.

Today I got a LOT of small things done. Cleaned most of the brackets, engine bay, throttle body, super charger, even started cleaning the harness. Also, I drilled and tapped the throttle body, and plugged the coolant holes in the top of the LIM. Pics:
Here's the throttle body tapped, with just some 1\8" fitting I had laying around to test the thread every so often, I might just put a hose fitting on this to help with the angles. I'm not done cleaning it yet, this was the last thing I did tonight:

I pulley the blade and shaft out to clean, and cleaned the bore very well also. This pic was before I blew it out one last time with my compressor:

Main pile of clean and ready to go parts, what you don't see is the battery tray, the 2 fender-to-core support brackets, and the supercharger tensioner.

Tomorrow I'll get more pics of the coolant hole plugs, the engine bay, etc. Here's a video of the teflon coating on the rotors...Damn near perfect from what I've read, what do you think?
    P1040617 - YouTube

Edit: I just got a better look at the pic and the bypass blade on the superhcharger doesn't seem positioned correctly, I'll pull it again tomorrow and fix it. I might shave off a bit of those screws too, to help it flow a bit better.

Taking a break for dinner, guess what I did today...Yep, Clean! I finished one valve cover, I wet-sanded the white stripes before painting the rest of the valve cover black, I like it a lot. I started wetsanding the front valve cover and there wasn't enough white coats on it, so I coated it about 5 more times today. During the week I'll wet sand it again and paint it like the rear. Also, did even more cleaning on the engine bay, hood, core support, cradle, rack and pinion, etc. Still more work to do, but I got a LOT done with it today. Pics:
    Clean hood\core supports\fenders\etc:

    I hate rust:

Coolant plugs, I went the dime route, RTV'd the top and bottom, they are SNUG and I'm confident that it won't leak:

Not much has happened on the car lately, been working a lot of over time to buy the parts needed for the rest of the engine, brakes, etc. I have finished the valve covers, installed the rocker arm bolts, and the valve covers themselves. TB is still soaking, but getting cleaner, after that's done, all I need is parts!

Not much has happened lately, had a BBQ last weekend and the car was definitely a subject of the conversation since we were right next to it, lol. I did sand the CAI PVC down to get rid of the casting marks, size label and such. I was hoping to make it look less like a PVC pipe, but I failed. Now it just looks like a Black PVC fitting with no casting marks and no size label. I'll get pics of it tomorrow. Good news is that parts buying resumes later today, I'll be getting the motor mount and a few other things for sure this week, buying more parts and dropping the engine in next weekend, and finishing everything up the following weekend. Remember I have to have everything shipped here so it'll take about a week to get the parts I order.

I did have one question though, I started a thread on it in the L67\L32 section, but it doesn't seem to be getting much attention. I have to do something to get rid of the secondary 02 sensor, whether it's getting a 02 simulator or a ECM with the code deleted(WBodyStore seems to have the option, but not ZZP). I'm thinking the ECM for a few reasons, but I'd like some input from you guys, since you all have more experience with them than I do. The main reasons I'm thinking ECM are:

    1. The simple fact that the code is GONE, some 02 simulators don't work 100% of the time.
    2. From what I've read on here and other places, changing to a Gen V is the equivalent of running a Gen III with a 3.6 inch pulley. My only mods at this point are the CAI and U-Bend delete, is that enough to support the airflow I need to keep KR down? I plan on getting an Aeroforce or something to monitor KR don't get me wrong, but reliability is key for me right now.
    3. The overall benefits of the ECM, increased transmission line pressure, e-fans turning on at a lower temperature, etc. BTW, how many of those claims are B.S.?
    4. At this point it's only ~$90 more than the 02 simulator, if I decide to buy and ECM in the future I'm out $50 unless I can sell the 02 simulator.

    What do you guys think?

If this is because your running catless you can try out the spark plug non fouler trick for the O2 sensor.

Attention for other thread... is that the one where Blue and I said to find someone local to tune it out properly instead of using the simulators? Missouri has a big group of GP owners on this board and others, you should be able to find a couple tuners close by that can help you out. Tuning isn't hard, just have to do it.

    Questions
    1) 02 Simulators are never guaranteed, as mostly its resistors on a board giving a baseline effect of a cat, never quite works right 100% of the time

    2) More research needed, as I understand the GenV swap is equivalent to a 3.4" pulley and requires more flow than just a u-bend delete. Need powerlog and downpipe AT LEAST. If you plan to do more, I would just jump to headers straight away and guarantee the best flow you can get.

    3) 90% of the time its all accurate. Line pressure is increased when you push the PERF Shift button into PERF MODE, fans turn on quicker and keep running for 90 secs after car shuts off to help cool the engine bay down, tables are optomized to run better, shifting points usually raised a bit, speed limiter is removed, all sorts of goodies. A tuner can do the same with the stock PCM in your car tho, find a local guy to help.

    4) Save $90 and drive to meet someone and get it done right for a proper tune.

I've responded to the other thread 3 days ago, bumped it, and asked another questions yesterday with no response. Although I just woke up (work nights) and haven't checked it yet today. Might I ask where you have found that a Gen V is the equivalent to running a 3.4 on a Gen III? Literally everything I have read has said the efficiency of a Gen V is like dropping a .2" pulley size from the Gen III, for example, a 3.4" on a Gen V is the same as a 3.2" on a Gen III.

I'm not complaining about the other thread, just looking for more opinions, since I know everybody doesn't look at the every section of the website.

Just after a quick search (have to go back to work, yay overtime.) Every Gen V swap thread has no mention of needing headers at all, in my own thread BillBoost told me there was only a colder charge, no power increase. If there is no power increase, and a colder charge, wouldn't the Gen V actually be better for KR?

I started a thread on the headers issue in the L67\L32 thread, and so far the answer I'm getting is that I don't need headers...only 1 response so far though.

Ordered the motor mount today, and I'm about to order the injector rebuild kit. I finished up the CAI PVC, it came out better than expected. Still looks like PVC to me though. Cleaned and painted the fuel rail, not sure if I like it, but it's easily changed. Also cleaned and assembled the TB, just need to adjust the TPS (http://www.grandprixforums.net/adjus...tml#post376504). Mainly small stuff, but it's stuff that needed to get done nonetheless.

I've also decided against headers for now. I can't find any evidence saying I need them. This L32 is stock, it came from the factory with these manifolds, so why would I need headers when I put it in my car? Someday I'll get them, but for now the money can be better used in other areas. I've still been hunting for a tuner as well with no luck, so I'm thinking the box tune is gonna be my choice, but that could change if I find someone to tune it.

If you're going with a box tune, get it from Overkill Motorsports.

No you need headers? No. But I still suggest getting headers now, b/c it will be much easier to install while the engine is out and you already have one of the largest "supporting mods" in-case you want to do modify the car even more down the road.

For now i just wanna get the car on the road again. I have a lot of plans for it and headers are on the list, but it's not at the top. Once the engine is in and running I still need brakes, a transmission cooler, sway bar, struts, etc. I need to make sure all the kinks are worked out of it by the end of June, but the earlier the better. This car will be the transportation when my wife goes into labor.

Do you know if Overkill will delete the downstream 02 sensor code for me?

Yeah, I am almost positive Overkill will delete the code for you. Their canned tunes are very good. I believe they tune each PCM to the list of "mods" your car has.

Why do you need a Tranny Cooler? These 97-03 GP's are just fine w/o a cooler. The only GP that needs one is the GXP.

I've always thought a transmission cooler was a good thing to have, especially since I'm eventually going to be putting some more power through the transmission. I'll contact overkill and see what they say about the 02 code.

As far as working on the car today, didn't do much, just worked on other people's cars, lol. I did start sanding the coolant tank down.

Not much happened on the car today due to weather and work, the coolant overflow tank is almost ready for masking and painting. I did think up a name for the car though......

    "Hookers and Blow"

That way when people ask me where all my money went, I just have to say "Hookers and Blow"
