I have quite a bit painted black on my truck and when it leaked oil (it is a Ford after all... I was able to see it. Now I can see that it's not leaking oil anymore, lol. What you did is exactly what I am talking about, but with black and white, and reversed.
I would have to say that car ended up at a great new home. I am loving everything youve done to bring her back to her prime. Keep up the good work.
Finished for the day, didn't only work on the car, but got a lot done for the car none the less. Every pulley has been cleaned, re-oiled, and is MUCH quieter than before. LIM is torqued down, all gasket surfaces are cleaned, coolant mod (endcap side) is complete, EVAP solenoid and boost bypass valve are back on the super charger, water pump pulley is on and torqued down, harmonic balancer is on and torqued down, coil bracket is complete and ready for reinstallation, and a few other things I can't think of I'm sure. The one thing I wanted to get done today didn't, paint the valve covers. Oh well, I can do that during the work week. Here's some pics:
LIM gaskets waiting:
Coolant mod:
What is actually done and ready to go:
Pile of parts ready for install, once the engine is back in:
Down the lower intake runner into the head:
How it sits now, but the valve covers and super charger are just keeping things covered up.
Thanks, but I'm still gonna do the white stripes idea, just didn't get around to it. I think I'll let the white set up a few more days before I put tape on it, just to be safe and keep it from flaking.
Since nearly every bolt on the engine is torque to yield, I bought some reusable rocker arm bolts from PRJ. Shipping was quick, they were delivered last week, I went to pick them up today:
Anyone know a place to get a descent priced super charger gasket? Oreilly's wants $62 and Rockauto wants $8.74 with $15.00 shipping. Problem with Rockauto is that under info, it has all the Gen III cars listed, not Gen V cars...
Hell, or valve cover gaskets? motor mounts? I think thats all I need before the ZZP adaptor plate.

Call the parts department at a local chevy dealership, they should have one lying around. The one by me had had it sitting there for a year and a half and told me when I showed up I was lucky to have it because they said that generally after a part sits for 6+ months they throw it away and quit ordering it. I think it cost like $8ish. My memory is a little foggy though.
Nothing is local to me, lol. I live 70 or so miles away from anything, small town has just under 3,000 people in it. I'll call the dealership in Springfield tomorrow though, maybe they can ship is to me or something. Thanks!
looks good
Called a dealer in Ozark, and they are more expensive, lol
Motor mount is $116.40
Valve cover gaskets with no grommet - 23.55 (each)
Supercharger gasket - $43.12
The search continues.
Oh dang if that's the case then I would buy the rockauto one.
There is always this route too.....ZZPerformance - L67 Supercharger Gasket #ZZ-SCL67GKT
GM ACDelco - OEM L32 Supercharger Gasket #GM-12574474
is for the Gen V
Oreilly's: List: Plenum Gasket Set - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix | O'Reilly Auto Parts
I know the old Gen V gasket is a different material compared to the Gen III gasket, much more stiff. The one I took off looks to be in great shape, but I assume they are not reusable?
