Get a bore scope and check to see if its chipped in there
i bought some head studs and new fel pros so im just gonna pull the engine and trans and throw it on a stand and do it than if it is broke put some ross pistons and good rods in it than b good forever
Make sure a machine shop assembles the bottom end lol
i work at a machine shop in minneapolis so i can do all the machine work for free i plan on running main studs and line honing it also
Just making sure your not one of those people that think you can slap together a 3800 in your garage lol
ha ha no i used to do that with dsm's and got sick of fixing them so got my self a job at a machine shop and havent had one problem with any engine i built untill this one ha ha but im sure its because of no headers and such.
so drove it a bit today and the tranny feels really weird if your cruising in overdrive and u let off the throttle it will basically idle down to 800rpm than when u hit the gas again it will catch back up than lock up like nothing happens till u let off the throttle again???? so lost
so the cars been smoking and i finally decided well ill pull it apart and see how many junk pistons i have. Well got both heads off and not one broken pistons in sight just this crap.
stupid valve guide seals literally every exhaust seal is popped off
DAMN!!!!
That sucks. Are those new valve seals?
Yup brand new when I put it together only had 8,000 miles on the engine after I built it
So is going on with those VS? How did they pop out? Valve Float?
i have no idea just cheapo valve seals thou i think im just gonna part the car and be done
i have a 87 mustang gt with a 331 stroker i wanna finish lol
So everyone talked me into it I'm just gonna keep it and fix it up so started pulling the subframe today until I hit a little snag with ones of the bolts so here's pictures
Got the engine out the other day gonna seperate the engine and trans today should b fun
decided to keep this gonna put it back together here in he next couple weeks
