Oh ok I get it....

Well guys, what Dan said originally is basically the truth, unfortunately. When we originally started tuning the car, it was on a 2.8" and a fresh tank of E85. We drove around on the highway for a little trying to burn off the majority of any pump gas that was still in the tank, and that's when we started playing with it. At part throttle it was boosting just fine, no KR, pulling great and running smooth. After a while, that's when he started WOT pulls to test out the tune and scan for different parameters. Again, almost no KR ever, and solid strong pulls. On one of the pulls though, it started misfiring and I thought the worst to myself. I ended up pulling plug number 5 first and there it was, a smashed plug. I could have cried, but I decided not too lol. Re-gapped the plug and went around and tried it again. Second time around and bam, another misfire. We noticed on the second pull that AFRs were spiking to 12.5+ and figured that was why we chipped two pistons. Fast forward, I ended up going home disappointed at 3am after all this. I get a call from Ryan the next day to check for MAF frequency on my Aeroforce because he studied the charts he had and noticed that I was maxing the MAF frequencies out. I did a pull in 1st gear to see, and it hit 11.5k on the MAF frequency which he said was the reason why it leaned out. So I'm guessing that's my issue.
Basically I don't want to dump anymore money into this thing, especially knowing the rust issues it has. It is what it is, and the damage is already done. Gonna put a new set of plugs, and maybe a new MAF and call it day and sell it. It hurts me to see it go, but I'm starting school this fall for the first time since graduating high school(3 years) and just need to take a break from all this, considering the bad luck I've had with it.
I appreciate everyone's support about the situation, I definitely won't be leaving GPF, there's a lot of great people here, but I think I'm moving on to an AWD turbo platform Volvo S60R or Saab 9-3 Aero to be exact
Demodding or selling the car as is?
No hookah in back lol and no I'm not parting out, selling as is. Just pulling a few things off like all the audio stuff, my GPOs, and SD lip.
And Conrad I've been looking at a bunch of different cars. I've really got myself set on that Volvo, but I did find a couple reasonable priced 06-07 A4's. I'll just see when the time comes lol
Man that sucks dude. Really makes me worried for my car too (asuming I dont already randomly have a chipped piston lol). I plan on droppin to the 2.7 and E85 after doing heads and injectors soon and I'd be really depressed if that happend to me too. After all the fueling issues ive had lately it makes me worry even more seeing what can easily happen.
Good luck selling it. Hopefully I'll still see you around at meets and stuff.
Yea I'll definitely buy another GP some day and do a nice turbo build on it, but for the mean time I've gotta stop what I'm doing lol With college starting and all, I can't be fixing up my car all the time. Hopefully your build goes as planned for you though!
I definitely will still be around (I know, I know, what terrible news lol) at the meets and stuff, I just won't be in a GP anymore lol
you had a LQ4 maf how did you max it out? sounds like it should have been calibrated on a bigger pulley and then drop down to your 2.8
sorry for your loss.
you selling GPO and lip?
Anmar you still looking to sell the whole car or has your momentary lapse of sanity worn off?
