Yeah, but a stock trans shifting at 250-270 whp isn't going to last long.
Whys everyone hating on the fact he bought a proper intake and exhaust. Ok I admit I can see both reasons as too why but honestly that intake looks alot better then a Home Depot plumbing coupler and a white piece of PVC pipe with a filter stuck on the end when you open the hood. I dont know the exact price of the exhaust of the top of my head so I cant comment on that. Spending some money when your N/A isnt always a waste. Unless your going to top swap and make some serious power then why not just go full bolt ons N/A? Save some money on gas and be just about as fast as a stock gtp. Just wait for the deals to come along. Anyways nice ride just my two cents.
Proper intake? What's a proper intake? One that delivers the air that the motor is looking for? Home Depot intake can do the job for 1/4 of the price. You want to spend an extra $175 on pretty....do your thing.
You basically answered your own question. Im paraphrasing: "Why not drop a bunch of money to make your car almost as fast as the car you could have bought for the money you put into the car you were trying to compete with."
Couldnt have been said better ^
I said in my post: Whys everyone hating on the fact he bought a proper intake and exhaust. I underlined the key parts in that post meaning that I know for example a K&N Intake kit does just about the same thing as a Home Depot Intake. I have a Home Depot intake myself and have driven a gp with the K&N kit and the sound, performance, etc.. when comparing the two cars are the same. However I think when looking at the car with the hood open a kit like the K&N one or Wiz Air looks alot better then my intake. Would I pay the money these kits cost? No. However I do think they make the engine as a whole look better then my home made intake.
I admit and know going full bolt ons N/A is pricey and alot of money which could be used for more power in the long run but maybe not everyone wants a top swap. Some guys have gone full bolt ons and enjoy their car. What if someone has a nice car with low mileage and just wants to make it a little more aggressive? Nothing wrong with that is there?
I see your point 100% but just wanted to clarify my post a little better.
Update!
Changed out amber corners with clears, rear sway with a GMPP, added front strut tower brace, and chrome lug-nut covers for the wheels!
Zero rust! ;-)
They look to be the same size to me, but the GM isn't hollow.
The chrome covers actually look pretty nice, the iphone picture doesn't do justice though.
Good job on the ride so far, very nice and clean. I like how you did the badges. Lower it though. White GP's look awesome low.
I just got my Doorman rear trailing arms on and my gmpp front sway bar fitted. Now I just need some coilovers!
I want to get my taillights replaced, but I'm not sure which one of these to pick. Can I get some help deciding?
Smoked Red ones are tits.
