you definitly got the right oil filter adapter there.

you will need aluminum oil pan from w-body and the engine miunt bracket that would be on it too.\\making good progress

    Build day 3

Not too much exciting stuff. I figured I would focus some attention away from the car and get the engine build completed.

First, I did the cam swap and installed the timing chain.

Then I figured the clutch and flywheel should be installed. Here's the F-body flywheel machined to proper thickness.

    Pressure plate and clutch...

And everything mated together like one big happy orgy. I mean family...yeah...family.

Also installed the Crow 105's, new valve seals, and retainers.

I didn't take pics, but the timing cover, water pump, oil filter housing, 8 rib crank pulley, and SC idler bracket are all installed. I spent a bunch of time running around and grabbing seals or sealant, or other errands. Didn't really look at the car itself, but that's on the agenda for tomorrow.

I'm running out of reasons to avoid the vehicle itself...I need to figure out the clutch master cylinder fitment and get on the wiring and rust repair. I'll get to it...just procrastinating lol.

When shiny new engine parts are around, no one wants to fix rust.. Looks like a solid build too.

I'm super anal about measurements and torquing and I also did a bunch of research before I got a lot of the parts. XP cam, LS7 lifters...typical stuff. I've also been cleaning and painting everything that goes on. And polishing a certain person's intake manifold in between.

We're actually borrowing the lift from a friend of my dad's. The thing works mint, but the framework of the lift can get in the way.

    Build day 4

Well, some exciting things happened today. And by exciting, I mean I had to make a trip to the machine shop. I'll explain momentarily.

First on the agenda was to button up the valvetrain so rockers are now on.

Next was to mate the engine and trans permanently. I tried to do this, but something seemed to be holding me back. I used measurements from Kuntzie's build when I sent the flywheel out to be done. If you have the flywheel machined to .840" measured differently than Kuntzie did, the flywheel will be too thick causing the trans to hit the pressure plate. The .840" measurement needs to be taken from the back of the flywheel mating surface to the clutch surface. This will result in almost .300" needing to be shaved from a new flywheel. Once I realized this, the flywheel made a journey back to the machine shop. A few hours later, it was done and the result was me installing the clutch and trans permanently.

After all this, I decided to start on the actual wiring and clutch hydraulics portion. Upon looking at the exterior and interior of where the clutch master cylinder will be mounted, I noticed there's another issue...there's a wiring harness in my way.

Right below the harness though I noticed another hole. So I thought to myself, "Hey Douchebag...move the harness." Never one to disobey orders, I disconnected the harness and pulled it into the interior.

I then ground out the bottom hole to the point where the connectors would fit back through.

Tomorrow, I'll fabricate a new grommet to fit the hole I butchered and make a plate to attach the clutch master cylinder to the vehicle. I also need to get the engine and trans attached to the subframe to make sure all my bracketry works. Stay tuned for further fun.
