You mean I read this entire monster thread to find out it won't be filmed burning tires off 'til next year.
?
Sorry Rico...just happened to be the way things worked out. I'd prefer to not let it sit because of rodents and whatnot, but I don't think I'm going to have much option.
God damn it drive it before the white stuff hits the ground!!
Honestly, it should have been at this point damn near a month ago. Little hiccups delayed the progress (lifters and broken ****) but I'm glad to see it running. For now, I clean up the bay and get ready for my next pain in the ass...the oil pan on my Jeep Cherokee has a giant hole in the side thanks to NY winters and sitting for 5 years. That better not take as long as my build or I'm going to quit working on cars FOREVER. lol
Wait a minute help me finish my build and hearse then you can quit working on cars forever lol.
Glad to see you finished it! I should be done mine this week as well..
Congrats on finishing her up. Lets see this Jeep! Is it lifted ?
Looking good bro! It will feel great to wheel her off the lift onto the road
Just you run of the mill base model 4.0L 5 speed 4x4 Jeep Cherokee...maybe one day I'll lift it, but I don't know if I'll have it much longer due to personal issues. Speaking of the Jeep, that's what a majority of today's build update is about.
Actually, the car just found its way to the lift today. The rest of the time I was working with a jack and jack stands.
Today's update...mostly about the Jeep. I spent a good portion of the day removing the oil pan so my dad could fix the rust on it so it'd stop puking oil. I also replaced the steering stabilizer to help stop the dreaded death wobble.
As far as the GP, it went on its first road test. WOW. That's the only way to describe it. The car feels entirely different being a 5 speed and I haven't even boosted it yet. The clutch slipped a little in 4th on the first road test, but that's related to either flywheel thickness of clutch master cylinder rod length. To remedy the situation, added a spacer between the trans and clutch slave cylinder. The clutch now grabs great. I drove it up and down the hill a handful of times...it was loud as hell without the exhaust, but it left a grin from ear to ear. I then put it on the lift when I was done with Jeep repairs, and installed the rear bumper cover, fuel filler neck, rear trailing arm brackets, and the GMPP exhaust. It's a lot quieter now. Still need to adjust the exhaust tips, but that can happen easily enough. Exhaust was finished being installed less than 1/2 hour ago, so adjusting the tips can wait until tomorrow.
I'm running out of fun things to update about. The car is about to begin bodywork...which isn't near as fun as building or driving. Damn, I can't wait to drive it again!!!
Grats man. I bet it feels great.
That's a great sound right there. Last year we had one snow storm all year. Drive it back here.
Seriously drive it back, when the snow starts bring it back to PA for the paint ill follow you there in my car for paint too.
The jeep??
